What's in your closet?: A 20 year old Oklahoma-Arizona Wranglers T-shirt stirs up memories of 10 defunct teams.

Oh, I don't want to go through that again!

I have the Kentucky Colonels stuff and a ton of Montréal Expos gear. I had New Orleans Jazz and Spirit of St. Louis shirts somewhere, but I think they disappeared in the mid 80s.

Durbano reportedly tore Hull's toupee off his head, then skated over it. Now that's old-time hockey Reggie Dunlop-style. Sweeeeeeet... I sure do miss the Detroit Vipers.

I have Baltimore Colt binoculars. Seattle Pilots baseball cards. Houston Colt 45 cards too.

I'm all about the defunct-team/league stuff. I've got replica jerseys from the Southern California Sun, Chicago Fire, California Golden Seals, Washington Senators, New York Raiders... One of my greatest regrets was not stocking up on Baltimore CFL Colts merchandise when I was in the area for Dead shows years back...

The California Golden Seals.... brings back great memories of Gilles Meloche. I had grandparents who lived in Denver, so I saw many ABA Denver Rockets games at the old Denver Auditorium Arena, watching Byron Beck, Spencer Heywood, Julius Keye, Larry Brown, Dan Issel, David Thompson, Monty Towe, Mack Calvin, Bobby Jones, Ralph Simpson and of course, other great members of that great league as well.... I have an Official ABA ball, slightly scuffed (couldn't resist takin' it to the playground a time or two), but don't know that I'd sell it, it is a vestige of my youth, and for some strange reason, dear to me. ?!, We do have something in common! The ABA was a lot of fun to watch.

Egads, I forgot to name Marvin "The Human Eraser" Webster!

Hey Frisby, I kinda know the guy who wrote that article. I know you are a Jersey fan (from your profile) but are you currently located in the Chicago suburbs?

I am proud to still be hanging Hartford Whalers jerseys in my closet!

Actually, willthrill, I'm in the bluegrass state. I have only been to Chicago once, and that was about 10 years ago. Every day I get an email from Yahoo! Alerts, subject: Keyword News ["New Jersey Devils"] which is how I found the article. I thought it had some nice tidbits in it that the SpoFi community would enjoy (I particularly liked that part too, wingnut). As far as memorabilia, the only things I have are Minnesota Northstars trading cards.

We had California Suns glass beer mugs handed down when the in-laws moved.

Other than a Charlotte Hornets jacket from their first season, nothing! Think its worth anything?

Hang onto it, Rhamblin. When the Bobcats win their first NBA title, take it to eBay (or whatever will be the place for such things when that happens). You'll get some coin then. And I'm glad ajaffe found this thread. He's the biggest WFL & WHA fan I know.

Indeed. ABA as well. The Southern California Sun had the best (or worst) uniforms ever, depending on your point of view...
