Manny's been doing this for years. The message he's sending is, "I didn't know not to do that." Probably picked it up from Carl Everett along with the dumbass habit of tucking their pant legs into their cleats. Underneath.

The dumbass look only works if your hat brim is approximately 15 degrees off-center of your face as well.

So Tim Raines was a crackhead? I wonder if he ran the bases while coked up (Ol' Tyrone Biggums ass muffa.)

Supposedly he developed his head first slide so as not to break the vials in his pockets (according to Ken Burns' Baseball). Guess he didn't feel comfortable leaving them in his locker.

Come on man, you know a crackhead never feels secure if he don't have his shit on him at all times.

We always called them blinkers, if your pocket is out your blinker was on.

I have a mouse in my pocket.

Yup, blinkers is the correct nomenclature in our league...signaling your intention to swing a bat and make three left turns.

Glad they included the Rico Carty wallet story, it's one of my favorite nuggets from Ball Four.

This link from the FPP, is classic. The stories about Mickey McDermott setting his pants on fire, and the exchange about the dropped gun are hilarious.

The increase in flappage is probably due to the continued growth of body armor. Those elbow guards are hard to get in and out of there, man.
