Does anyone know how the Eagles look on the salary cap in 2006 and beyond?

I only watched a few minutes the second half, which promised to be nothing more than more of the same. How did the fans react? The few boos I heard seemed kind of half-hearted, too. Did they show a little "Philly spirit" at any point? As for the Seahawks, it seemed like every time the camera zoomed in on a guy, he had a big smile on his face.

I expected to see a little more out of Jim McM.. I mean Mike McMahon. I had no illusions that Philly was going to win, but I at least thought they might look like an NFL team.

The Eagles will tell you they never quit last night. Probably true. You have to at least fight back for quit to fit here, and there was not even the hint of a fight out there. All this on a night when they pay tribute to Reggie White. The ceremony should have been canceled until a game when the team didn't embarrass themselves so poorly that it put the entire crowd into a horrible mood. The only Eagle I give any credit to for showing some heart is Brian Dawkins. He needs to have some of his heart transplanted into every offensive player on that team. Maybe a better punishment would have been to make Terrell Owens play in these last five games, playing alongside the not-ready-for-prime-time Eagles, running across the middle, running for his life. It could have been him out there last night, stretching for overthrows, putting his life in peril, trying his heart out. I'm starting to agree with that thinking.

Does anyone know how the Eagles look on the salary cap in 2006 and beyond? As of Sept. 1, the Eagles were $12.6 million below the cap. This puts them in much better shape than all teams, at that point. The next best teams with regards to being under the cap were the Texans ($7.8 mil.) and the Rams ($6.5 mil.). The worst team was the Titans ($168,000 under).

Do those numbers take into account people on injured reserve. On Sept 1 the Eagles were already without their #2 WR and I thought IR players don't count against cap.

dawg - I think players on the IR still hit the cap based on this link (sorry, I know it's the Patsy's but it's the best I could find). It seems like he's taking into account those players on IR as a knock against the cap.

I figured the Seahawks were going to be in the Super Bowl before last night, but damn, they obliterated the Eagles last night. They did what they had to do on both sides of the ball, and they didn't make any mistakes. That's the recipe for playoff success.

The Seahawks had more int. return yardage than the Eagles had recieving yards. Disgraceful.

I've seen more fight in a dead dog. I've seen a better effort in grocery shopping on a holiday weekend. I've seen nicer patterns in an airport bathroom. I've seen better hitting on Sesame Street. Actually, I fell asleep before kick-off.

Man, what a weekend for us Giants fans. Turncoat Tuna gets his butt kicked by the good guys, loses his 1st place tie - and the tiebreaker. The Eagles (I only hate them when they are good, as opposed to America's Sleeze Team who I always hate) get stomped. And the Redskins - oh well, who cares about the Redskins. The beer at the Inn will taste mighty good today.

Go Seahawks. Why couldn't they do the same thing last year? Ha, also the jerks on "Around the Horn" were saying all day Monday that the reason the Seahawks were not going to win the NFC championship is because of a poor D. ha.

When a team is without their, starting QbMcnabb,their #1 and 2 receivers owens pinkston,their "between the tackles" starting halfback c buckhalter, their starting center h fraley,left gaurd a. hicks and left tackle tra thomas,their 2 starting D-endson the right side j mcdougle and n d kalu,their starting corner l sheppard,and their best D tackle c simon(who was their franchise player,which they let go without getting anything in return and now starts for the undefeated colts),how can you expect anything else but a butt whoopin? You cannot tell me that the eagles were so good for so long that everyone expects them to be great no matter what. from the list of "10"!! starters above 5 are probowlers. Not making excuses but the general public should keep this in mind. Picture if you will the colts without Manning,harrison, e.james, R wayne,j saturday,r lilja,t glenn,c simon,d freeney,and n harper. Im not so sure theyd be undefeated.
