It’s not like Domi was spraying them with hydrochloric acid or anything. It wasn’t a classy move, but it was definitely funny. (I can’t believe I’m actually defending Tie Domi.) You sit in the front row at Seaworld, you might get splashed by Shamu. You yell obscenities at Tie Domi right outside the penalty box, you might get sprayed. As to your question, you can’t squirt the guy who comes into your office and starts yelling about your editorial. But if he starts yelling shit about your mom, all a good dousing is perfectly acceptable.
Go back and read that again, Samsonov. You ARE defending Tie Domi. Oh, the shame. The question is not whether or not I can squirt the guy. I can do that, although if I do so, I'm obviously not very professional. But if I pull the guy's sweater over his head and start beating him like a rented mule, that's ok also? It's not the water spraying that bugs me so much, although a player should know better (but we're talking about Tie here). It's the punching, and the fact that people think it's ok, that bothers me. I would like to beat the crap out of Shamu, though. He never shares his fish.
I think you could probably start throwing punches on the guy in your office if, after you spray him with water, he jumps over the side of your cubicle and lands on/near you.
