Calumny: Jon Heyman v Pete Rose: "Pitchers and catchers report," may be the best four words in the world, but "Pete Rose not in Hall," might be five of the most controversial. Turns out the Hit King has been spotted at the Bellagio, among other places, visiting the sports book. Also the IRS is after Rose again in a big way. After the January lovefest, looks like Ole' Petey's on the outside looking in again.
Revised predictions on when/if Rose gets into the hall now being accepted.

Jesus. From the article: ...two casino employees accidentally overpaid Rose thousands of dollars, and Rose refused to reimburse the casino moments after... This was at the MGM where Rose has since been banned, and the two casino employees were fired over the mistake. It's getting harder and harder to be a Rose apologist. But I stand by an earlier statement. A Baseball Hall of Fame without the career leader in hits is an incomplete HOF. He should still be enshrined.

jasonspaceman has my position covered. I have long opined that Pete belongs in the Hall of Fame, after he has servrd his lifetime ban.It is inconceivable to keep him out permanently, but equally so to allow him the stisfaction and wealth he would achieve through induction. After the way he crapped on the sport, posthumously is definitely the way to go.

My prediction: after he has passed away. When he is dead, he is no longer has the words 'hall of famer' preceding 'IRS tax debts' and 'gambling problems' in the news columns.
