Wages of Wins Offensive and Defensive NBA rankings

Comments

First post - be gentle. I thought it was interesting to look through while the playoffs were in process.

Very interesting. Its funny how the Wizards are #2 in offense, yet last in defense. In the draft this year they might wan't to look for a defensive stopper. Thank you bobfoot nothing I love more than an NBA post with stats, i'll be on this one for a while.

Rest assured this is on my shortlist of sites to perusebut I glanced at it and realized I would need a solid chunk of minutes to do so! Thanks for the link.

Detroit and San Antonio are the only two teams still in the playoffs that are in the top 5 of both categories. It makes sense. I would say they are the teams to beat, even though Phoenix still has a shot. That defensive efficiency stat is crap because it depends on the style you play. Detroit plays really slow and probably doesn't give their opponents 1/2 as many shots as say, the Suns. If the Suns get the other team to play at their pace, they can win any game.

Good info to have during playoffs. Too bad the Suns with there #1 offense is missing there leading scorer now..... A huge blow dealt out by the NBA.

D'oh. I looked at the first two tables and thought "How the hell can the Lakers be #7 on offense and #10 on defense?!?!?!" And then I saw the dates.... Interesting how much things change as the season progresses. The projected West standings were pretty close (all the right teams at least, if not the rankings), but the East changed drastically.

Think the standings change quite alot during the playoffs where the teams play for blood and honour!

Damn, I didn't even notice the dates...
