OHES NOES LOHSE!!1: Twins pitcher Kyle Lohse flips his shit and goes crazy on manager Ron Gardenhire's office door with a baseball bat after getting pulled for giving up five earned runs in two innings of this past Tuesday's game against the Rangers. Lohse's excuse: Gardenhire didn't "have his back".

Just have to say it -- I love the phrase "flips his shit." That's pretty damned descriptive. Anyone else thinking of Charlie Sheen's shit-flipping scene? Classic. As a sidenote, I bought an autographed and framed 8x10 of Hideo Nomo this weekend. The neat thing is, it's autographed to Charlie Sheen. I'm not sure why Charlie was selling off some of his baseball collection -- maybe Denise is moving back into that room?

Well, if Kyle Lohse didn't blow it before, he did now.

The Twins are just coming to terms with being out of it. If I were Gardenhire, I'd have a good talk with him, and as long it it was just a simple shit-flipping incident, I'd let it go without further comment. It's just a door. It wasn't a cop or some sportswriter or the owner's dog or something. Doors can be replaced. Make him pay for a (steel reinforced, monogrammed, batproof entrance-to-a-gilded-palace-looking) replacement, and trust that he's learned his lesson. If he's unrepentant, then that's another situation, bigger than a door. But if not, really, no harm, no foul.

I also found it interesting that at the bottom of the story, there was a short bit about a grievance being filed on behalf of Sidney Ponson, who had become quite the hot topic at one point.

What the National media isnt telling you is that Kyle is the Third twins Starter to complain in the last weeks. Its funny thatit took so long to hit the national media. Radke and Silva have complained about not getting run support. Loshe has pitched sveral games where he went several innings-should have one but didnt due to no support. It was bound to happen. Chicobangs is right the Twins are realizing that the need to regroup and shoot for next year. Loshe has got alot of talent but could be out of a job with the twins. They have Baker and Liriono ready to step up.(they will be cheaper and better in the long run) That is going to leave Loshe and Mays (between the two of them it would cost about 9-10 mil for next year)on other teams. A change of location would do them both good....

they better re-group for the next decade, if you've seen the young talent the indians have, the twins are gonna be outta the playoff picture for a while.

I know what you mean....The Indians have a good team. I still like the Twins future especially from a pitching standpoint. Their system is loaded with good young arms.....

Last winter I was in Vegas and got 8-1 on the Twins winning the ALCS this year. I thought it was a sweet bet. A pack of ESPN baseball writers even picked them as the Series champs. Even after the White Sox skyrocketed in the first half of the year I remained confident because the Twins were superior in Pythagorean. I was sure they would come out on top over the second half. Frankly, I think I should be the one flipping shit in the Twins locker room.

I had the Twins winning it all this year. Now I can't even begin to remember why (outside of the obvious pitching depth). I agree with most of you that this is when they've relaized they aren't gonna make it. I have heard that Gardenhire isn't too popular with some of the players right now, but I think the problems the Twins have had this year have to do with the over-emphasis on Mauer and Morneau in the middle of that lineup. They still look like they're going to be great, but maybe a little more patience is needed.
