Extra meetings? That's no way to influence IOC members. What happened to the free trips, hospitality, hotels, presents for the 'wife', scholarships for the kids, or just general out and out bribery? What's good enough for (deleted on legal advice) and (ditto) and even (ditto) in past years should have been enough to swing it.
Much as ignorance of the law is no excuse for committing a crime, ignorance of the rules of the game is no excuse for losing. I sense a hint of le dpit. And I gloat in their general direction.
The link doesn't work for me.
Doesn't the loser usually stand there with a look of disbelief on their face?
Excellent article. And may I just say....the French should know all there is to know about "sour grapes". *tee hee*
Would Paris like some cheese with their whine? OK...that was too easy. owlhouse, unless it's thinly veiled under "hospitality", you've made no mention of free hookers. Free hookers = Diplomacy of the flesh. "Tony Blair and other people from the London committee did some unfair steps like getting some special meetings with some IOC members and organizing everything just to lobby again. That's against the rules of the IOC," Jocelyn Niot said. (I'd be pretty fucking pissed if my parents named me Jocelyn, btw. But then again...he is French) Is what Blair is accused against IOC rules? I don't claim to know the ins and outs (as it were) of Olympic Ass-kissing but I thought the entire charade is nothing more than a BrownNoseFest. Oh...and... WELFARE STATE ROCKS!!!!
