Former WWE Superstar faces felony drug charges.: Recently departed WWE Superstar Jeff Hardy was arrested on felony drug trafficking charges at his home in North Carolina. Hardy, who let his contract expire with the WWE and did not sign a new one, has a history of drug abuse and received two strikes against himself for violating the WWE's Wellness Policy instituted in 2007. Several people in the industry have been quick to defend Hardy including former WWE star Lance Storm.

Based on the drugs found and his prior history, not surprising. Echoing on Lance's blog, I'd tend to think the quantity found is evident of his drug use- chiefly of the pain killer realm with the crazy stunts he's done over the years- and not so much selling.

Amused by the timing of this as he'd just started to heal up.

It's yet another black eye for wrestling. Is it any wonder that my fellow hardcore fans and myself are losing interest. Just how sleazy can one business be? (And believe me, unless you follow the insider stuff really closely, you have no idea.)

Leave it to the one guy that had acrobatic talent, charisma and the gift of gab to screw it up. I always liked Jeff in the ring, but wouldn't let my kids watch him due to his out of ring problems.

Just like I think should happen for any other professional athlete that gets caught like this, he should be banned from even doing minor school gym wrestling for life.

Maybe this will wake up some of his cohorts and they'll get some help and turn around a dying industry.

They should take the trial to the Peoples Court.

"I find the defendant, gui-."

"Wait. What's that sound?"

"Oh my God. That's AUSTIN'S music!! THAT'S AUSTIN'S MUSIC!! He's not supposed to be here! He's supposed to be in a HOSPITAL! In BATON ROUGE LOUISIANA!!"

WWE's isn't doing well. ROH isn't doing well, and just lost two of it's biggest stars to Vince. TNA is... Well, TNA.

Wrestling is also not doing great in Japan. Continues to do huge in Mexico though.

Of course Japan and Mexico tend to have a lot less of this sleazy shit going on. (Not saying it doesn't. Just that it happens less. Or at least we don't hear so much about it.)
