QMJHL suspends another Roy son : The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League suspended another of Patrick Roy's sons Monday, handing Quebec Remparts forward Frdrick Roy fifteen games for a high-sticking incident during Friday night's game against the Juniors in Montreal.

I love that Jonathon is pleading not guilty for the past incident. What's his excuse? "My dad made me do it?" (Which may be true) And this play is every bit as criminal. A cross check to the face, and then a pansy-ass move to pull up your sleeves and skate away. If both Roy's do continue to play, all I can hope is "what goes around comes around". Where's Chris Simon? I think we may have found him a new home.
And to think I was going to post more (Patrick)Roy cards on eBay because of the jersey retirement, now I just can't do it.

Is the gutless b@$+@*# afraid to drop his gloves? If he can't go man-to-man, then he has no place on the ice. I say lifetime suspension in all organized hockey for him.

I agree that the play was gutless but he's 17. A lot of people make decisions at 17 that they regret when they're older and wiser. He's got a lot of growing up to do but there's no sense in taking away his ability to make smarter hockey decisions in the future.
People can change, especially young people. If he does it again, it's time to think about harsher consequences. Give the kid a chance to grow up a little bit and learn what it means to be a gentleman. If you don't give him that chance, you're condemning him to always be this way.

Seventeen years old, probably played hockey since he was three, and still has no concept of the hockey fight code? Better suited to an Alfred Hitchcock movie that comes to mind. The whole male part of the Roy family belongs on a Special Victims Unit episode.
