There isn't an actual league yet because I'd rather not be commish, but I'll do it if nobody else is willing.

Scaredy cat.

I would also like to announce that no Confidence Pool for March Madness exists and I am not starting one.

posted by The Crafty Sousepaw at 04:03 PM on February 19, 2007

Well, it can't exist until after Selection Sunday. We'll see how masochistic I feel that day.

YYM, you're not allowed* to tease a league and then not come through, homie. You better buck up and put that commish hat on, Mister. *Not that I have the bylaws handy or anything, but I'm sure it's in there, so just don't fight it.

In that case we should slap a citation onto goddam. However, I've decided to commish for the good of the community. I better recieve a medal. ID: 77368 Password: tigersalcschamps

In that case we should slap a citation onto goddam. hey, watch it kid. i made this mug. and these shirts. i don't need to register no stinkin' league. yes, this is a teaser. more spofi swag coming soon!

Is this a live draft?

posted by jojomfd1 at 10:45 PM on February 19, 2007

Yes but you can pre-rank your players and autodraft if you can't make the live draft. If anybody has suggestions for the settings, I am more than willing to hear them.

posted by Ying Yang Mafia at 06:29 AM on February 20, 2007

I better recieve a medal. Ask and ye shall receive.

posted by YukonGold at 06:50 AM on February 20, 2007

Thanks Ying Yang and Mama's Boys is in to give her punishment (probable not) again this year!

posted by skydivemom at 08:46 AM on February 20, 2007

I better recieve a medal. You better get a chest to pin it on first, Sparky. Sorry...it's an old military joke, and since so few civilian endeavors these days involve medals, I rarely get a chance to use it. Anna Nicole Barbaro is gonna straight up murder your ass.

When is the draft going to be held?

posted by jojomfd1 at 09:48 AM on February 20, 2007

The draft is going to be held March 17th at 11:30 am eastern time. However, if not many people can make it we can change the date to a different time.

posted by Ying Yang Mafia at 12:24 PM on February 20, 2007

I am in with my unbeatable team, Vin Scully 4-Eva! 3/17 looks good for me.

posted by Venicemenace at 01:07 PM on February 20, 2007

March 17 works for me too.

You're holding a draft on St. Patrick's Day? Are you mad? Some of us are Irish, you know!

posted by The_Black_Hand at 04:14 PM on February 20, 2007

So I found out on Saturday about the greatest invention in my lifetime...St. Practice Day. That's right, every February 17th you get to practice for St. Patrick's day. It was also the night of the Great Guinness Toast and pints were only $4. Brilliant.

You're holding a draft on St. Patrick's Day? Are you mad? Some of us are Irish, you know! Think about it. It is actually an amazing strategy. Drunk people are 150% more likely to choose J.D. Drew in the first round than somebody who is sober.

posted by Ying Yang Mafia at 05:23 PM on February 20, 2007

March 17 is a terrible idea.

posted by jerseygirl at 05:49 PM on February 20, 2007

Seriously, a draft on St. Patrick's Day? I got a major event I have to be at all afternoon, there's no way I can do that. The next day would be much better for me. St. Patrick's Day is just one of those "Don't Schedule Anything But St. Patrick's Day Today" days.

posted by The_Black_Hand at 06:41 PM on February 20, 2007

If it turns out that not many people can show, then we can change the day.

posted by Ying Yang Mafia at 07:02 PM on February 20, 2007

See YYM, they make you set the thing up and then they tear you down.

posted by YukonGold at 07:32 PM on February 20, 2007

Why do you hate Irish people, YYM? Is it the potatoes?

posted by jerseygirl at 07:49 PM on February 20, 2007

I could go for a 9:30 draft instead of 11:30 and then everyone would have the afternoon to do their St. Patricks Day thing and we could all have the luck of the Irish on our side for the draft.

posted by skydivemom at 08:10 PM on February 20, 2007

I love potatoes. Especially baked ones.

posted by Ying Yang Mafia at 09:15 PM on February 20, 2007

Doesn't really matter to me. I have something to do later in the day (and through the night) on the 17th, but earlier in the a.m. is fine, or the next day (although my head may feel differently).

posted by dyams at 10:42 AM on February 21, 2007

If nobody else cares about the date, I'll just autodraft, but I'd really rather do it Sunday the 18th, late morning-ish.

posted by The_Black_Hand at 03:16 PM on February 21, 2007

If someone could bring TBH a couple aspirin, maybe a nice big greasy breakfast and lots of water. Also, no screaming at the draft.

posted by jerseygirl at 04:32 PM on February 21, 2007

Well I care about the 18th morning - just doesn't work for me. And really TBH are you going to feel alright that morning after your big St. Patty Day?

posted by skydivemom at 07:47 PM on February 21, 2007

HEY, TBH, IT'S YOUR TURN TO DRAFT. MAYBE YOU SHOULD USE YOUR TIME THINKING ABOUT GETTING A SHORTSTOP WHILE YOU'RE TALKING TO RALPH ON THE BIG WHITE PHONE. Was that obnoxious. Yeah. Yeah. That was a little obnoxious.

posted by The Crafty Sousepaw at 07:56 PM on February 21, 2007

I am in, the new team is now (drum roll).......14 of 15!!! A St. Patty's day draft is a little rough, but if we HAVE to do it, can we do it earlier than 11:30, please?

posted by jojomfd1 at 03:18 AM on February 22, 2007

Did someone say TBH drines a Buuuuuuuiiiiiiiick? Sorry also tbh needed to be done.

posted by jojomfd1 at 03:19 AM on February 22, 2007

Buncha damn smartasses. Some of us actually have to be on the working end of St. Patty's Day. I'll be at a charity function most of the day, so I'll set my player list accordingly and thank the Yahoo! Gods for autodraft. I mean, seriously, when have you ever scheduled a draft on St. Patrick's Day? This is what happens when the commissioner isn't old enough to drink.

posted by The_Black_Hand at 05:45 AM on February 22, 2007

Don't say you didn't bring it upon yourself.

posted by Ying Yang Mafia at 06:32 AM on February 22, 2007

This is why baseball should start March 1st instead of April 1st. Then all drafts would be complete by the time 3/17 rolls around.

posted by YukonGold at 07:31 AM on February 22, 2007

There are still six spots left for anybody who wishes to join.

posted by Ying Yang Mafia at 07:58 PM on February 22, 2007

I mean, seriously, when have you ever scheduled a draft on St. Patrick's Day? This is what happens when the commissioner isn't old enough to drink. Perhaps the boyscout uniform should be a Millen jersey? HaHa, Paybacks for a 3/17 draft!

posted by jojomfd1 at 11:08 PM on February 22, 2007

Does everyone who may want to join realize it's Yahoo fantasy baseball? I didn't see it noted with the ID (77368) and password (tigersalcschamps).
