Hey, at least Hundley's gone. That's good news even if all the Cubs got was a bag of balls.
well, I'm not incredibly happy about the cubs grabbing some more under-producing veterans, but like bag man, i'm glad to get rid of hundley. And the article explicitly states that grudzielanek is likely to be a backup for Hill, and chicagosports.com says that karros is supposed to be a right-handed sub at first base. My guess (or rather, my hope) is that the left-handed choi will get most of the at-bats. So while I don't think it's a great deal, I don't think it's as bad as you've claimed.
A better deal would have been to give them all the wrong address to their new parks. Or force them all to retire. Andy MacPhail is clearly on top of things: who knew Grudzielanek still played?
Finally, the Dodgers got rid of Eric Karros, he is a bum and a half. Grudzielanek is ok, but he reached his prime a couple years ago.
