FootballFilter 2.0 The people behind FootballFilter have re-thought the concept and came up with an aggregator format (similar to popurls.com) which "categorizes new[s] sources into things such as tabloids, broadsheets, magazines, broadcasters, international, [and] blogs." According to the developers, the idea behind the new FootballFilter is to "centralise all the best football sources into one place to save time and make the most of your time on the internet." That's awesome, terrapin. I'm getting rid of all my soccer bookmarks.

Some comments: The thumbnail pics looked like decoration at the beginning. Some visual differentiation would help with pics vs videos as well as sourcing (this row of stuff is from dailymotion, this row is from bbc, etc.). I think we only need to include EPL feeds from the injury blogs (physioroom.com and the like) and the site would be complete! ;-)

wc2002: I have no affiliation with the site. I have invited the developers to participate here in the past though. Email them your suggestions. I am pretty sure they will be welcomed!

Wow, that's nice! When I read "football" I figured it was going to be that OTHER football. Thanks! After years of being casual I'm on a serious football kick lately. (Pun intended.) Hoping it lasts! Even chucked down the $15 for a sub to Setanta Broadband.

Hmm... Doesn't bode well when the top story on the Times section is about cricket....

"Hmm... Doesn't bode well when the top story on the Times section is about cricket...." Dude, it's the first day of August! We'll be up to our eyeballs in footy news soon enough.

I don't go to a baseball site for F1 news:) I was merely pointing out that clearly something in the keywords or something picked up a cricket story.

Hi guys thanks for the feedback - those suggestions are great, especially signifying the that some of the feeds are images and some are videos - I think we will try and add like a little camera icon or video camera icon next to them or something to symbolise it- we will have to think about it! As for the other sources we will defo consider adding them - we want to add forums and betting too. And we need to develop the team specific pages too as we only have Derby, Man U and Chelsea at the mo.

We also have a blog which we will add as a tab at the top -

blog.footballfilter.com - am trying to create a network of writers for it - let me know if you are interested in writing on it!<>

oh yeah sorry about the cricket sources! the times doesnt provide just a football rss feed - will need to work on that! thanks again

It's nice but it's bit of a slog to load on a crappy computer/internet connection. Are there plans for an option to hide/turn off each news source (and save that so it sticks on a revisit)?
