Former Lions receiver Titus Young had a rough Sunday.
Good riddance. Glad the Lions cut their losses before he managed to get worse.

I should have been more clear. I was referencing Game One for Randy Johnson.

Harvey was dominant. Had it been Adam Dunn that hit that ball and not Alex Rios they would have got him. Rios was just a little too fast.
I can't imagine how frustrating it must be as a pitcher to pitch that well and still have your team lose.

Matt Harvey threw nine innings, struck out twelve batters, gave up only one hit (an infield single). Thankfully the Mets managed to squeak a run across in the tenth inning in order to not waste his start.

Some quotes from Tigers pitchers after Anibal Sanchez struck out 17 batters today. For context, Max Scherzer's career high is 15 strike outs and Verlander's is 14.
'We were joking after the game that Anibal is No. 1, I'm No. 2 and Ver is just average,'' Scherzer said. When told about that comment, Verlander - a former MVP and Cy Young Award winner who has thrown two no-hitters - paused briefly. ''That's OK,'' he said. ''I've got a few other things.''

A disappointing end to what was a great tournament run. The City of Ann Arbor probably had mixed emotions, since the loss resulted in a largely quiet night. The bars all filled up by mid-afternoon so finding somewhere to watch the game was a bit of a hassle.
But Michigan was simply outplayed by Louisville in the second half. It was frustrating to watch. Thankfully Tim Hardaway stuck to his tournament form and was unable to hit much of anything from beyond the paint.

You seem to be a tad biased. Or maybe disappointed that your favorite team didn't have what it took to get this far?

It looks like it's that way for four hours, then you have to have a cable subscription.
I've been deceived. Fortunately Michigan will be on CBS today, which is the only tournament channel I get.

I'm very happy with the NCAA's online coverage of the tournament this year. Last year you could watch online or on mobile as long as you had a cable subscription. This year it is completely free. Great job by the NCAA (how many times will I ever get to say that?).

I doubt he will win this case. It seems to me that an individual attending a baseball game assumes the risk of getting hit with a foul ball irregardless of whether his ticket has a waiver of liability on the back.
Foul balls are an integral part of baseball games. People bring gloves to games for the purpose of catching them. The stadium warns fans that bats, balls, and other objects may enter the stands. I'm surprised the Court is letting this get to a jury.

From a friend's facebook:
You guys can't really hate on Ray Lewis on the field doe. Since he's come into the league he's done nothing but buck the trend of linebackers past. Reporters and analysts have fawned over him since day one. He has had stag gering statistics and did everything he could to rack up wins. He will be deerly missed by the entire football community.

Except that Moss won't come close to Rice's numbers. Rice was the best for a long period of time. Not to mention, receivers are usually expected to do some blocking on running plays. That's something the stats don't reflect.
Edit: Moss isn't even the best receiver on his own team now.

Brady has been fined $10,000 for sliding hard into second base/Ed Reed's leg with his cleats showing.
In hilarious news, Frank Gore has been fined $10,500 for wearing his socks too low in the NFC Championship
I wonder if the Commissioner's office takes a number out of a hat when it assesses fines. Except in fines involving James Harrison where any number is automatically doubled.

If the whistle blows for the time out and the kicker still kicks the ball there should be a penalty called. Letting him take a practice kick isn't right.
If it blows as he has started his approach should he just stop mid-kick?

Icing the kicker is one of the stupidest practices in football. I love when a kicker misses the called off kick and then makes the next one.

The Big 10 might as well mail it in instead of showing up for Bowl games. That's how they play them anyway.
By your standard the Pac 12, Big 12, and the ACC should have mailed it in as well, based on the results of the Holiday Bowl, Pinstripe Bowl, and Music City bowl.
Northwestern and Michigan State won. Michigan lost in the last 13 seconds. Wisconsin was 50 yards from taking the lead in the final two minutes. Minnesota lost on a field goal at the end of the game. Nebraska (who was, at best and that may be a stretch, the third best team in the Big 10 this season) lost by two scores against a team that was in the national title conversation.
The only team that could be considered to have "mailed it in" is Purdue, which hardly constitutes an entire conference mailing it in.

I was completely baffled by the call in the Packers/Vikings game following McCarthy's illegal challenge. A review was allowed because it had already been initialized? It seems that the NFL doesn't want a ridiculous rule affecting the outcome of anymore football games. As a Lions fan, it is beyond frustrating. Although, thankfully, that decision didn't affect the outcome of the game.

Murray should have spiked it or tossed it out of bounds rather than dump it up the middle with four seconds left.
The ball was tipped at the line. It looked to be intended for a different receiver, who was closer to both the endzone and the sidelines when the ball left Murray's hand.
