Stop crying and Get Over It. Super Bowl XL This is for the Seattle crybabies and other excuse makers...print this out and give it to them, no need to say anything. 1. The Refs didn't give up the longest run in SB history...Seattle's defense did. 2. The Refs didn't bite on a 43 yd trick play, Randle to Ward for a TD...Seattle's defense did. 3. The Refs didn't allow Ben to scramble around on a 3rd and 28 and complete a long pass to the 2 yd. line...Seattle's defense did. 4. The Refs didn't miss two field goals, that was Seattle. 5. The Refs didn't fail to step out of bounds late in the 1st half to stop the clock in Pitt territory in a crunch time situation...Seattle's offense did. 6. The Refs didn't let the 1st half clock tick down from 48 seconds all the way down to 13 seconds before finally running their next play at Pitt's 36 yd line...Seattle's offense did. 7. And on this play, 3rd down, 53 yds away from a FG, it wasn't the Refs who tried and failed to go deep for a TD rather than a safer 5-7 yd play and timeout setting up a much easier FG attempt....that, again, would be Seattle's offense. 8. The Refs didn't get confused by Pitt's zone defense and throw an INT...that would be Seattle's QB. 9. The Refs didn't let a little physical contact intimidate them from catching 4 very catchable passes...that would be the Seattle TE Jeremy Stevens. 10. With approx. 20 seconds left in the game, knowing they need a TD and FG, in no particular order, and in easy FG range on 4th down, it wasn't the Refs who ignored the FG and elected to throw up a prayer trying for a TD...that AGAIN would be Seattle. And Seattle if you're Steel salty and steel reaching for excuses... 11. The Refs didn't constantly punt deep into the end zone, repeatedly giving Pitt the ball at the 20 yd line...that of course was Seattle. 12. It wasn't the Refs who received a Christmas gift wrapped easy INT lobbed in perfect position to return deep into Pitt territory...the lucky beneficiary of that break would be Seattle. 13. It wasn’t the Refs who got a break when a Steelers DB dropped an easy int early in the game...that too would be a break for Seattle. 14. It wasn't the Refs who caught a break when a Steelers WR dropped a very catchable TD pass...that break again would go to Seattle. 15. It wasn't the scapegoat Refs that received a break when a WR caught the ball, turned, stepped, was hit hard enough to cause a fumble, and then ruled INCOMPLETE...that would be of course, another chance for Seattle. (this was an interesting call considering that after Troy's famous overruled Int, the NFL stated that it WAS a catch. If so, than this definitely WAS a catch). 16. The Refs weren't the ones who caught a break when at the conclusion of a 2nd qtr play, as a Pitt DE was walking away, the Seattle Center blindsided the defenseless player, leveling him to the ground. This mysteriously unseen crime was again another break for Seattle. 17. It wasn't the Refs who got a break when Pitt QB Big Ben was blocked in the back as he pursued the DB who he'd tossed an int to...that again would go to Seattle. 18. It wasn't the Refs who stopped Seattle RB Alexander in a few key situations. That would be the Pittsburgh Steelers. 19. It wasn't the Refs who converted many of their 3rd downs yet stopped their opponent on 3rd down often...that would be the Pittsburgh Steelers. 20. And the very bottom line is this...On plays when there weren't any penalties...One team made plays and one team didn't. The end result was the final score, 21-10. Get over it Seattle, lose with a little dignity. Congratulations to the World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tainted Steel Our mission is to raise money to put up a billboard in front of Heinz Field in which the truth will be on display for all to see. Its location will draw attention from the national media and embarass the NFL.

STEELERS DRINK CHAMPAIGN, SEAHAWKS WHINE! Hearing this bad call, fixed game stuff is total bullshit and holds no water. ANYONE who is whinning, needs to learn the rules of football and know that while some calls were somewhat questionable to the "joe average" fan, the calls were by the rules of the NFL...PERIOD Maybe Holmgren should have been reading the "play menu" instead of the "breakfast menu"! Bottom line is that DEFENSE and EXACUTION wins games..PITTSBURGH had both and the Cryhawks did not! With his post, "kosmicdebris" put the ball between the uprights...unlike Brown (who by the way, the Steelers dumped because he sucks!)

Stewart Rips NASCAR For 'Dangerous' Racing Defending Nextel Cup series champion Tony Stewart criticized superspeedway racing following his third-place finish in the Budweiser Shootout on Sunday, saying ``we're going to hurt somebody really, really bad.'' Is restrictor-plate racing too dangerous?

posted by wingnut4life at 07:32 PM on February 13

Steeler Fan, I would expect a little more from you! Yes, I have been to a race, I should have spent the money on a couple cases of Iron City! I love all the bashing! Say what you will, I like the abuse! NASCAR is a growing sport, like RAP is a growing genre of music...shows where this world is headed....in the toilet!

Timing of Wiretap Backs Gretzky The New Jersey Attorney General's Office and state police said Sunday the agencies would not comment on a pending criminal investigation. Yeah, now that they have released what appears to be false information (the wiretap in the last month was actually just a few days before and after the gambling investigation was revealed) and attempted their typical character assassination in the press, they finally say they are going to shut up.

Nobody can claim Wayne is innocent. Nobody can claim Wayne is guilty. One thing we all know for sure...the NHL will do whatever it takes to squash this thing or as Barney Fife says "Nip it...nip it in the bud".

Remind me not to go hunting with Dick Cheney. USA VP shoots 78-year-old Texas lawyer with shotgun while hunting quail. So many jokes in there I don't know where to start. (The lawyer is doing fine.)

The next Derrek Lee? Michael Young? David Wright? Who will be the next baseball player to make the jump to superstar status?

posted by The Gangstinator at 12:43 PM on February 12

Is Derrick Lee a superstar? I dont think so. One year does not put you in this group. The next star may be Paul Dade Jr. or Charlie Spikes III.

Baseball and Softball Lose Reinstatement Vote Despite American companies providing a bulk of the 87% of IOC revenues from broadcasting and advertising. In related news, America is now without a representative on the IOC Executive Board, the Olympics' most influential body.

posted by geekyguy at 11:28 AM on February 11

Another reason the Olympics are a joke! Speed Walking, Snowboarding, Sync Swimming, or Skateboarding, but not one of the most popular sports in the world...baseball(softball). No wonder rating are lower than the Springer Show, nobody gives a shit anymore.

Finding the Bradman of bowling. Using statistics to find the best Test bowler of all time. That's cricket to you. Number of wickets? Average? Strike rate? Richie Benaud ponders the question.

posted by owlhouse at 07:54 AM on February 11

Best bowler of all time...EARL ANTHONY! errr...Did you say Cricket? They are very bothersome when camping out and trying to sleep...all that damn churping! Seriously, its a game I admit, I really dont get. When I was down under I got the chance to see a game. The Aussies love it and the crowd was really into it. I will check out blarps links to try and learn more about the game!

Raiders look to the past for a coach, with Art Shell taking the job. The last time Shell coached the Raiders was in 1994, when he was fired by Al Davis. This hiring came, of course, after several candidates turned down Davis, who many call the real coach of team. The ol' Silver and Black don't have the luster they once had, so good luck to Shell in his second go-around with the team. He'll need it.

WINGNUT...YOU DA MAN! Ken Whisenhunt may be the smartest man in America! Turning down the job was his best move. Why dump the Steelers, move his wife and kids to that shithole city called Oakland, just to lose with a half assed bunch of talent and then get canned before seasons end. The players that played for Shell in the past seemed to like him and his take no shit attitude. Thats what the Raiders need now! Old Norv was a bonehead move on Al's part. Turner has NEVER won anywhere he has been. Now after Whisenhunt turned down Davis, Al hired Shell after changing the Raiders motto to "JUST TAKE THE JOB BABY". Sadly the bottom line is you cannot win with second rate players with bad attitudes. GOOD LUCK ART...YOU'LL NEED IT!

Kwan In Pain Quite honestly, I hope that Michelle Kwan can continue with her skating. She's put a lot of work into her sport and has been the best at her craft for nearly 10 years. Its a shame to hear about her going out like this.

This egotistical little crybaby needs to step aside. Taking a spot from someone who really deserves to by in the Olympics is very lame. Of course her asshole father has the final say-so.

This kid is a punk ass, just like his older brother. Like Michael, he will NEVER be a QB in the NFL. He simply doesnt have the talent or tools of the trade. This kid has a lot of growing up to do, both on and off the field. Until then, he will be just another "college athlete" (not pro caliber) who smells the big money in the big leagues, but will never touch it! Speaking of big brother Michael, the sooner the Falcons organization realizes Michael isnt a legit QB, nor will ever be one in the NFL, the sooner the team can move on and be contenders. As for anyone trying to play the race card on this issue.... GO F**K YOURSELF!

Manny isn't going anywhere! I've said it all along. The guys is just weird. Great hitter but weird. As a Red Sox fan I would hate to lose Many even after all the drama. I know a lot of Dominicans, being Puerto Rican myself, and one thing I've experienced first hand is how flaky they are when it comes to business. Not to say all are the same but just my personal accounts. Don't know why but I'm just happy to hear it from the horses mouth. He ain't going no where.

Unless youre a Red Sux fan, who cares? This punk is a jackass. Maybe the most overrated player in baseball. Sure, his offensive numbers are huge, BUT the rest of his game is offensive too. He cant run the bases, (9 year olds I coach have better base running skills), he cant field, he cant throw, and he is a huge P.I.T.A. Sure he brings a bat to the park, along with an attitude thats better suited for the playground. And to JOE88...WHAT??? Shaq=Babe Ruth? The Parrish trade or the Dennis Johnson for Rick Robey trades in Celtic history are more lobsided than the Shaq deal. Shaq in NO WAY can be compared in his sport to the Babe in baseball. Shaq is overrated as well. If you can imagine the Shaq trade is even in the same ballpark as the Sux selling the Babe to the Yanks, I just have one word for you my friend...DETOX!
