Woods Lacking Aura of Invincibility After winning 2 of 3 majors this year, Tour players still say that Tiger isn't the Tiger of 2000. Agree?

Official was wrong The NFL actually admits a mistake by a referee. In a game marred by many bad calls against both sides this was the most flagrant. You know it had to be bad for the NFL to admit it publically.

When a play goes to instant replay, instead of leaving it up to the officials, they should borrow an idea from Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and "Poll the Audience" All of us would have a better chance of getting it right (and of course we would vote objectively). Interactive NFL

Kobe-Phil pairing won't amount to much Superstar, coach back together, but Lakers simply aren't very good.

Phil would not have returned if there were not a plan in place to build a championship caliber team.

Game Over The White Sox win the longest game in World Series history to take a 3-0 lead over the Astros.

What the Astros freaking lost? Man, I shouldn't have gone to bed after the 4th inning. Or maybe I should have, there's NO WAY I could stay up that late.

Parcells explains shove to assistant A day after the Cowboys' 13-10 loss to the Seahawks, a lot of the talk in the locker room centered on coach Bill Parcells shoving receivers coach Todd Haley on the sideline.

Parcells = Bob Knight. Old man whose tired and antiquated anger tactics have lost their effect while having a net result of loss of respect. Time to retire.

If nobody gets crippled, it'll be a miracle... and probably a ratings failure. Jerry Rice, Bo Jackson, Karl Malone, Xavier McDaniel, Jim McMahon, Bill Goldberg and others will challenge "regular Joes" to contests of physical prowess on a new show on Spike TV. In other news, Spike TV is still on the air.

Cheerleading is Not a Sport Cheerleading is not a non-sport because it’s typically for neurotic blondes with disorders of both the eating and attention deficit variety (although it is); it’s a nonsport because there’s no on-the-fly competition.

I like this "on-the-fly" idea. Except that it labels my beloved golf a non-sport. But then I thought, who cares about the label, sport, or no sport, I still enjoy the "game" just as much either way. ESPN needs a new show, "GameCenter."

He's disgracing my family name! Joey Harrington might be on his last legs as the Lions' starter. Jeff Garcia's close to returning, and Dan Orlovsky, although an untested rookie, was the only QB able to get the Lions into the endzone in the preseason. Is Joey Matt Millen's version of Joe Dumars' Darko? Previously discussed here.

greatest TE's and WR's come out of Ann Arbor, but don't end up in Pontiac The Lions have recently moved from Pontiac to Detroit, Ford Field, which will host the Super Bowl this year, I think. The Lions will not be present.

Showing some class - finally? Looks like the NBA is trying to finally (at least it's a start) clean up it's act and make the thugs at least a little bit presentable.

I'm sorry - but sometimes 'I have a right to be comfortable' is trumped by 'shape up asshole! it's not all about you!' ... or in Toronto, 'if we can't look like professionals during the game, we'll look good before and after.' ..sorry weedy, that was a cheap one.

"I did everything I ... "I did everything I possibly could to get back and finish my career the way I would have liked to, my injuries just wouldn't let me do it." Allan Houston announces his retirement today. Maybe this explains why the Knicks used their exception on the Junkyard Dog instead of AH.

I think the Orlando Magic has more to be upset about with the way Grant Hill turned out than NY does about Houston.

Coach resigns after high school bans pregame prayer A spokeswoman for the district, Trish LaDuca, said students have the right to pray on school property during school events, but the prayer must be initiated by the students; otherwise it violates the law. "I'm not out preaching, I'm not a preacher," said Borden, who has led the football program for 23 years. He has a 116-100-1 career record, and his team won the Central Jersey Group IV championship in 2004.

This is why the Yankees keep losing. Its Stienbrenners own fault. He doesn't know anything about sports and should stop knocking his staff that does. They don't make the team, they inherit them. I have to side with Mel.

I wish the Tigers could "keep losing" the way the Yankees are.
