The Memories and Teams

National Basketball Association

I am an avid fan of the Pistons and have had the opportunity to attend several games during both the regular season and the playoffs. I am fortunate to have witnessed their title over the Lakers in 2004. The most painful game that I have ever witnessed in any sport came in the 2007 playoffs when LeBron James singlehandedly destroyed the Pistons in double overtime.

Major League Baseball

I am a major Tigers fan who is finally enjoying the joys of having a successful and competitive team throughout the summer. I had the priviledge to attend the majority of home playoff games in 2006, and witnessed the Tigers ALCS championship win. I also attended the 2005 All Star game. Also, I am a fan of the Atlanta Braves although I do not know when I became a fan or why I became one. Perhaps it was so I could have a winning team to root for in the summer.

NHL- Red Wings: Hockeytown, USA. Nothing better than the three years the Wings won Stanley Cups. Sadly, the rivalry with the Avs has just about died. Most memorable Wings game I've been to was a shootout loss against the Nashville Predators, the only shootout I've had the priviledge to see.

NFL- Lions: This year is the year!

College Sports- University of Michigan: I am a diehard Michigan fan and am more passionate about their football team than any other team in sports. The National Championship win in 1997 was amazing, hopefully to be surpassed by a title in 2007. With my love of Michigan comes a hatred of Notre Dame, Michigan State, and the good-for-nothings down in Columbus.

Soccer Football- Arsenal: Not really a good reason for this one since my knowledge of the Premeirship is almost nonexistant, but I bought an Arsenal jersey in England. Thus, they are the team I "root" for.

CFL- Hamilton: They seem to me like the Lions of the CFL, giving me an obligation to "root" for them.

My Current Bandwagon Team- Nobody at the moment.

Things I Strongly Dislike: Brady Quinn, Troy Smith, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Ben Wallace, the New York Yankees, the Boston Red Sox, and though they aren't really good enough to even warrent consideration, Michigan State.

Let me address the first statement as eloquently as possible: Are you freakin' kidding me? The Celtics are gonna put the mighty Pistons out of their misery as soon as they get passed those pesky Cavs

So the Celtics squeak past the Hawks (the Eastern Conference's worst playoff team) and are having troubles with Cleveland and you think they will just storm past the Pistons just like that? I have a feeling you are going to be in for an unpleasant suprise.

Looks like there will be a game seven. Unfortunately for the Celtics, LeBron James is much better than Joe Johnson. I'm not saying they can't win this game, but I doubt it will be as easy as their last game seven was.

D'Antoni accepts Knicks' offer Mike D'Antoni is set to become coach of the New York Knicks, bringing his entertaining offensive style from the Phoenix Suns to a team coming off one of the worst seasons in its history. Can he make the Knicks contenders again?

posted to Basketball at 4:48 PM CDT

It will be interesting to see whether D'Antoni is truly a good coach or if his success with the Suns was just a product of having Nash and Stoudemire.

Incredible throws. They would be impressive if he simply one-hopped them, but for the throws to reach third base on the fly with that much accuracy is unreal.

Comment icon posted at 2:25 PM CDT on May 8

So how come is it that whenever they turn and throw over to first base from the pitcher's mound ( or when they field the ball and toss to first) there is a good chance the ball is going to wind up in the dugout? I'm exaggerating, of course

That is not neccesarily an exaggeration. During the 2006 playoffs the Tigers' pitchers became thoroughly incapable of making easy throws to third base after fielding grounders.

I think we can all agree (BaaHaaHaaHaa!) that the real issue is that John Daly should not be photographed without his shirt. Ever.

Seconded.
