Who is Antonio Cromartie? : Cromartie may be best known as the Chargers quaterback who led the league in interceptions last year and owns the league record for longest scoring play with a 109 yard return. But not many people know about the other aspects of Cromartie's life, life changing instances such as life-threatening illnesses, having his mom kidnapped at gunpoint, and a scary car accident.

Antonio Cromartie is a great young player who will take the ball to the house if he gets it, that's who he is. Anyway, I don't think Antonio is the only person who has seen messed up shit and has had a bad chilhood. I'm sure a lot of people have had rough childhoods and other stuff going on in their lives and survived through it. Antonio, though, sounds like a good person and what's happened to him in his life has helped him be a better ball player.

Should that read as "Chargers cornerback" and not quarterback?

Yeah.. oops. If that could be fixed I'd greatly appreciate it.

Very interesting. Seems like a whole lot of story to make an exceptional athlete seem like a great person. I'm a little surprised that the writer was able to write about his five kids under the age of 3 with no judgment. Then, that whole part about not making any decisions without is mom? How is that a good quality?

From the article:

He doesn't want his children, who live with their mothers in Texas, Georgia and Florida, to have to overcome a tough childhood. He doesn't want them to be escape artists. He wants them to have nothing to escape from. Here's what a profile about him has to say: "I want to teach them not to make the decisions I did."

Do those bad decisions include having 5 kids by three moms in 3 years?

Cromartie sounds like a good guy who has suffered through some tough times to get where he is. But after having been raised by a single mom who also went through all those tough times, one would hope that he would understand the value of having a father living at home as well.

On the cover of sporting news Cromartie looks jacked.. at first I thought it was a UFC fighter or something.. and cjets, I really doubt he'll realize how important that is. Or if he does, I would bet he never acts upon it. But great story nonetheless.
