Passion Passes Primary Postseason Play The Pittsburgh Passion won the franchise's first NWFA playoff match with a 63-7 pulverizing of the Erie Illusion. The win was the fifth time in nine games that the Passion had scored more than 50 points, and the seventh time the team held their opponents to under 10 points.

For more information on women's professional football, checkout the wikipedia entry. One of the interesting things about the Pittsburgh Passion is that the team is currently owned by one of its players, Teresa Conn

impressive alliteration, and nice story. I knew nothing about women's professional football even existing, so this sheds some light on the subject. sweet.

Not only is their (semi-) professional women's football, there are two leagues. Don't forget about the IWFL. Taking a look at the team pages for these leagues is a real study in logo design. Sort of. NWFA teams IWFL teams

That's great. Locally, I would rather cheer for the Baltimore Burn than the D.C. Divas. What's with the D.C. teams and their sports names? I have missed all the games for this year, but I will take my daughter to a game next year. I am always on the look out for family friendly sports.

"Taking a look at the team pages for these leagues is a real study in logo design." Any one of them is better than the London 2012 logo.

I guess I'd pull for the KY Karma, just cuz of the name.

It looks like the Detroit Predators ripped the Tiger's logo and put a, um, predator's arm on it. Interesting.

great link to the teams pages. i didnt even know that there was a team right down the road in cincinnati (i live in dayton), and that we will have a team here next year. the local media has said nothing about it. but i'm a little worried about the team name--dayton diamonds, as a very famous, or infamous adult club here is called dayton diamonds. they may want to reconsider their name.

As a result of this post, I found a site that has information on all minor league and women's teams.

Thanks bperk!
