Disney sells World Series champs Anaheim Angels to Arizona businessman.: Has nobody seen this? This is so lame.

Why the attitude? Isn't baseball better off having it's first Latino owner than Eisner and his team of jizzbots?

It's not the buyer, it's the seller and the selling. Hey, we're champions, but our owner doesn't think we're worth holding on to. Just cheapens the whole thing. Eisner sucks.

And, btw, doesn't winning the World Series up your revenues (tickets, merchandising, advertising, etc.)? What kind of business decision was this?

Didn't they dismantle the Florida Marlins the year after they won the World Series? I suspect (and this is an armchair businessman talking) that you can make more money selling a World Champion franchise than a last place franchise. [insert generic anti-big business sentiment here]

What billsaid. There have been many instances where owners of teams have behaved in much poorer fashions with teams (like Joey noted with the Marlins. Buy a whole bunch of good players for one year, win the series, then release them all crushing the hearts of your fans and then shortly thereafter become a consideration for retraction). And I'd much rather Disney stay out of the sports scene than continue to make shit like Angels in the Outfield. Now if we can just get a new owner for the Ducks and change their name, I'd be remotely and temporarily satisfied for a little while. And just to say, Moreno's est'd. net worth is $940 Million. Someday I hope mine will be $9,400 and I could (conceivably) buy a ticket to a baseball game.

All credit to Moreno for pulling it off. I hope he does really well with the Angels, and shows up Disney and Eisner for the idiots they are. But get rid of the Ass, I mean, Rally Monkey already.

You know...I have never been a Jenna Jameson fan. I'm not crazy about that airbrushed, big haired, fake-tittied look. I like my girls to be raw amateurs when I'm behind the camera. Maybe Team of Jizzbots would be a better name for a Porn Production Company. But me and my friends Spike White and Max Plummer already have a corporate name picked out...

You guys I'm sure have heard the expression "Sell at the top" and so can't blame Eisner, who never saw the hoped for synergy, for getting out. Pricetag shows you how little that championship meant in $$$.

A friend of mine and I actually considered going to LA to try and start up a production company (possibly called Grabbatouel Productions), Vito. I'm glad that Disney sold the team. There was something very...wrong...with a team collecting luxury tax money being owned by one of the biggest multinational corporations on the planet. Oh, and I'm a fan of Devon. But I've never rented anything she's done. Honest. (picture is safe, but site might not be) There is something very humourous about a discussion of Disney turning left and becoming something about porn.

Back on topic: An article on Moreno, Vietnam vet, married, 3 kids, made his fortune in the billboard industry, sold his business for 8+ billion, now worth $940mil. Also tried to buy controlling interest in 2001 World Series champs Arizona Diamondbacks, but sold his 5% stake after encountering opposition. Rock on.

This year, he wants to bring out three more sites, including a travel blog, a consumer guide for frugal millionaires, and what he describes as a "high-class erotica site linking to the best porn on the Web." Based on his business model, you could be his $24K/year blog editor, while he gets income from advertising. It's not big money, but it's a start. Maybe you should talk to him.

Dude, wfrazer, think about it. It's NOT a fulltime job. You could do it after hours (or at work, depending on how cool your boss is). What's there not to like? I'm sure the whole point is that you would have a free discussion site a la PornFi, to help with the, erm, stickiness of the site. I'm imagining the ad income will be above-average, given the content. I'm serious. I think you should contact Denton, and try and do it. And if you get the gig, I'm expecting some sorta cut.

Kinda cheapens the World Series championship I think. Disney sucks. At least the new owner will let them stay in Anaheim. For now.
