Well, my boys Liverpool cruised to a 3-0 victory over West Ham, with goals from Baros, Gerrard and ... Heskey. It was a remarkable win, following last week's 1-1 draw with Arsenal. The Reds managed to scored more than one goal, and did it without Michael Owen, who only came on as a substitute with just over 10 minutes left, after the third goal was scored.

Sunderland score three own goals in 10 minutes. Howard Wilkinson looked so depressed I wanted to give him a hug and tell him it was all going to be alright in the end. Charlton failed to score - Sunderland score four goals and lose 3-1. That's football sometimes. There's a new Ormondroyd too. The Villa have found some form recently, winning away at Middlesborough, and some revenge at home against Blackburn. We might even be top half of the table by next week.

Nice links, Calmy, esp. the Ormondroyd one. StarFucker should enjoy the Heskey jab. Here's the full table, the team of the week, and it's time to start asking ... ... "Who's for the drop?" Will "newcomers" Birmingham and WBA make a quick return to the First Division? Is Sunderland done for? Will Fulham become the most expensive side in the First? Or will it be West Ham, with possibly the most English internationals in fear of relegation? Can they conjure up a great escape?

The most interesting happenings continue to centre around Leeds and the highly dubious figure of "Publicity Pete". Can't help but find myself highy tickled by it all.

Sorry I missed last week. Work. Bleh. So, I was thinking, let's do this week a little differently. Let's make this a group report. Everybody bring just one link -- and a little snippet about it -- from the EPL (table, injuries, team of the week, goal of the week, etc.) for this week. It was an idea that was supposed to be carried out over Christmas, while I was away. But only Fat Buddha came through (thanks, mate). I'm interested in seeing what group reporting of a single topic can look like. Smart mobs, or something like that ...
