Browns constructed to contend: Being a huge Browns fan, I am excited about this upcoming season and glad to hear that we are USA Today's surprise team of '06. Among the football fans, who is your surprise team?

I am also a huge Browns fan and i'm extremely excited about the direction they're heading in. We finally have management that knows what they're doing and the future looks bright. I think the Arizona Cardinals will also be a surprise team in '06

This is great news and provides some much needed hoopla surrounding our Brownies. I expect the defense to be much improved and the offense will hopefully follow suit. I'm still not sold on C. Frye, but last year, he was a rookie put into a tough situation and I applaud him for that. Sometimes, that's the best way to learn your craft...On the job training. With that being said, I was saddened to see how Babbet Kosar is dragging her husband's name through the mud in the press. Obviously we don't know all of the particulars in the case, but it certainly seems that she's dragging crap out looking for a payday.

The good thing is that Frye will not be counted on to lead the offense. Rueben Droughns has a revamped offensive line and teams cannot stack the line with Winslow and Edwards stretching the field. I think Frye just has to manage the game let the playmakers do their thing.

Glad about it, but two things: 1) Is there any club that isn't built to contend? Isn't that the point? Ignore the Texans, please. 2) How can you drag someone else's name through the mud if your name is Babette?

I think that the Vikings are going to be a much stronger team this year, even though they dumped their two biggest stars and got nothing in return. I also think that the Lions under Martz's offense will be much, much better. I don't really know if I'd consider either of these two, or Cleveland or Arizona, surprises though. It's pretty clear to just about everyone that they made moves to improve their teams this offseason.

A team that should have made the playoffs last year will be there.KANSAS CITY CHIEFS and the chip larry johnson has on his shoulder, that dude don't run around people he runs them over.He only played 9 games last year and lead the a.f.c in yards rushing.willie roaf is coming back arguably the best line in football, will shields, brian waters, casey wiegmann, john welbourne.I also like the cardinals to go to the playoffs.CHIEFS all the way.

I am also a huge Browns fan You're this guy? Get a hair cut and quit tossing empties. (I'm just a sorry ass Bengals fan having fun) But...wear cammo, like the guy behind you, it's much nicer than that ugly ass jacket.

Great picture...I didn't know Peter Griffin from "Family Guy" was a Brown's fan! Glad the Brown's have Romeo at the helm -- I think he'll get 'em to the playoffs and maybe the big dance. They seem to be getting the necessary talent, but it'll be Romeo's job to get them to play nice together. Next season will tell!

Worryingly, I expect the Jets to be semi-surprising this season, after a draft in which I couldn't really find at anything to laugh at them for. It'll depend on what they can drag out of the Quarterback and Halfback positions behind their new line. When is this year's stupid Kellen Winslow injury scheduled for?

The only surprise for the Arizona Cardinals will be how they can manage to finish 3-13 in spite of all their recent aquisitions... Edggerin James will wish he was back in Indy playing for the league minimum after averaging 2.1 YPC behind that underachieving line, and Leinhart partying with Paris Hilton tends to remind one more of Brian Bosworth than Joe Montana...

Browns superbowl champs 2010

The Browns are going to be 9-7 and just miss the playoffs in 2006 but will make it in 2007! The team is on the rise but the team is still building. Because thier goal is the Superbowl Championship...

I'm still lost as to how the Cards finished 8th on Offence and 8th on Defence and scored a 5-11 record.

The surprise team will be the Cardinals. Edgerrin James can make any team a contender.

why do you think the colts let edge go.not because he made them a contender

Long article... the Browns have a solid team- and have Windslow and Edwards back. If Frye can stay healthy, and put up decent numbers, I think thhat the Browns will walk into the playoffs.

Sorry, but the Browns are in the wrong division. Pittsburgh and Cinncinati will make sure the Browns stay pretenders, not contenders. They will be lucky if Winslow can make it through training camp, and he and the rest of the team, except for Ruben Droughns, are a bunch of "we hope they live up to expectations". Hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so.
