I wish I spoke Chinese. Then again, it is an international web out there, and we do always complain that 50% of our links are to ESPN.com ;)

I think she's from the Netherlands, not Poland. 31 - awesome!

Also I was under the impression that Miz de Bruijn, lovely and popular as I'm sure she is, didn't invite anyone. It was a corporate event for the medalist swimmers and their respective entourages, sponsored by a certain swimsuit manufacturer. Which is where all the photo oppy shots come from. Would "luckygirl9" care to actually comment on these discussions, or is she (he?) a front-page only kind of gal/guy?

Championship swimmers are notorious for being party animals. My guess is that those who weren't invited to Ms De Bruijn's par-tay were busily going through the supply of free condoms in the athletes' village. (No, really.) The swimming gala ends after the first week, and most people are staying round till the closing ceremony, which leaves a lot of time for hook-ups.

Inge de Spellcheck scares me. She looks like one of Conan O'Brien's "If they mated" featuring WWE's The Edge and Cruella De Ville. /off-topic

You inspire me, etagloh. I think I'll start a locker room thread on which sports have the biggest party-animal reps.

Is Phelps into the whole MILF thing?

lil_brown_bat: it surprised me to hear about what swimmers get up to (a friend of a friend was on the UK national team, so I heard stories), but on reflection, it makes sense. There's a lot of self-denial in the run-up to a big gala, and the after-gala blowout is compensation. A nice little piece here: swimmers do it longer, but the French do it more often (with other French competitors only, bah). But yes, Inge is the exception that proves the rule about Dutch women.

can phelps' pants get any lower? no seriously, can they?

"I know I have to be careful when I talk to a journalist, but I can say this: It wasn't the f**k-fest it is now." Shame of you if you don't read etagloh's wonderful link. Great stuff!

Thanks for all of your comments.I hadn't thought that this topic can arouse so many different kinds of sounds. Then I think that swimmers should have their own space to relax,it's very common.
