The second round of the NBA Playoffs begins tonight with the Mavericks visiting the Kings (though ESPN already has the Spurs up three games to two over the Lakers). Who do you like in all four matchups?

I think Dallas will edge Sacramento and Los Angeles will squash San Antonio. I don't have much of a feel for the East, but I'd like to see the Nets escape their long history of futility by reaching the NBA Finals (whereupon they will be thrashed by any of the remaining Western teams).

It's kinda nice that the top 4 in each conference made it through; 8 over 1 upsets are a big story, but not really much fun for watching a team get lucky in 5 games and then get stomped in the next round. I like New Jersey over Charlotte, Boston over Detroit. In the Eastern finals, it's a close one but I pick Boston over New Jersey. I think Walker and Pierce are too good a duo right now to be stopped, and the Nets were only 3 games better in the regular season- hardly a dominating performance. Of course, I'm a Boston fan, so I may be biased here... :) In the West, Dallas over Sacramento, LA will demolish San Antonio (although Robinson's health could make that a closer series than expected). LA over Dallas in a close Western Finals, setting up... Celtics vs. Lakers in the Finals. Because it was meant to be...

Charlotte will beat NJ in 6. Boston over Detroit in 6. Lakers over Spurs in 5. Dallas over the Kings in 6, possibly 7. Boston over Charlotte in 6. Lakers over Dallas in 4, maybe 5. Lakers over Boston in 4. Charlotte is damn good, and Mashburn isn't even playing yet. Detroit sucked in the 1st round and won't get it together. NJ, same as Detroit. Boston, to beat Philly, was amazing. Sac really stunk it up, and Dallas has a shitload of momentum. Come on, they're the Lakers. Ain't no one stopping that train.

Corpse: You're a Mavs fan, right? I am too, but I'm not crazy enough to predict a victory over the Lakers.

Acutally i'm a Hornets/futureNewOrleansteam fan, but I can't pick a east team against a west team, and the mavs are my fav west team.

i do not like marv albert saying Oh! He gave them a facial! please stop him from saying that. ever. otherwise, i like the kings over the mavericks (defense and offense beats lots of offense and no defense). i think boston will beat detroit; i'm hoping anyway (i realize both are underdogs in a sense, but after all those years of the pistons blocking out the bulls from the finals, the pistons can piss up a flagpole for all i care). new jersey over charlotte (kidd, van horn, martin versus baron davis and hmm...). and LA takes the spurs. downtown. but not with a facial!

Charlotte will beat NJ in 6 What are the chances the a carolina team will beat a NJ team in 6 games in the playoffs twice within one month? (Devils lost to Carolina Hurricanes already)

The same chance of your posting that comment twice in 10 minutes?
