Bangladesh madly in love with cricket: ESPN sends Wright Thompson to Dhaka, Bangladesh to witness the fervency of the fans at the Cricket World Cup.

Andy Zaltzman is there with ESPN's Cricinfo subsidiary: more for the devotees, but his blog and podcast are a lot of fun.

(Zaltzman was sports editor for the student newspaper when I was at university, and was writing awful puns for the back page even then.)

You had a chance of breaking him of that habit and didn't? Now every time he clogs up an episode of The Bugle with 60 seconds of crap, I'm blaming you.

Had I known back then what I know now, I'd have done my best, but even then, the force was strong with him.

It's not that he's not funny or that I don't care for puns. I love the opening of Football Weekly. The difference is James Richardson's puns are fantastically funny & they make sense, whereas Andy's are not funny and require about 6 steps to figure out how they are even puns. Some of his cryptic crossword clues were less elusive. I know that puns are the lowest form of humor, but Zaltzman doesn't need to work so hard to prove it. /derail
