Swimsuit models Speedo International Ltd. and their research partners performed body scans of some 400 elite swimmers, tested low-friction materials in a mini NASA wind tunnel, and subjected swimmers to rigorous pool tests wearing their new swimsuit.

Fur years of R&D has produced the new full-body Fastskin LZR Racer swimsuit that has been worn to break countless world records and been labeled a form of "technological doping" by critics.

Sour grapes. Others can buy the suits and use them if they wish. The suits are within the rules which state that a suit should not aid a swimmer to float higher in the water.
