49ers Let Cardinals Off the Hook Tony Kornheiser was right -- the 49ers snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory must have been scripted -- or that's just what bad teams always do. The 49ers coaching staff and players totally mismanaged the end of the game. With no timeouts and less than 20 seconds, you keeping throwing -- or spiking -- the ball until the last play ... then maybe you run.

Island Breeze: The dominance of Caribbean (Jamaican) Sprinters Coming from a Caribbean person, I wish there were more stories like this that highlight that, apart from the American and Jamaican sprinters, almost everyone else in the final fields for the men and women 100m and 200m finals were also Caribbean runners (Netherlands Antilles, Cayman Islands, St. Kitts, Bahamas, Trindad & Tobago, etc)

Swimsuit models Speedo International Ltd. and their research partners performed body scans of some 400 elite swimmers, tested low-friction materials in a mini NASA wind tunnel, and subjected swimmers to rigorous pool tests wearing their new swimsuit.

"...Finally, it was only third down, theoretically allowing for the 49ers to again spike the ball and call a different play on fourth down." - from the ESPN story posted by brainoftrain.

Of course I'm not buying it! However, that is admittedly a tough spot for a new head coach and his talented-but-underperforming offensive coordinator.

Maybe Howard invoking Christ's message was unfortunate fodder for Jews or others sensitive to Christianity. But Howard's point is well taken. How about every descendant of slaves in the US not having to pay taxes because the US government enabled slavery, and for a time, Jim Crow laws and segregation? Jews have a right to still be jaded by certain ties, but as a whole, I hope that level-headed people and organizations not make decisions solely based on surface knowledge.

I could beat Michael Phelps Ocho Cinco says he could beat Michael Phelps in the pool.

I can't believe you guys get worked up over what Ocho Cinco says. Just laugh at what he says and keep going. What is unfortunate is if some people in the "inner city" or with no opportunities take Chad seriously and use his words as excuses.

I for one think that Phelps is even more great because he has the opportunities, is expected to win, AND STILL WINS, even with all that pressure! Now that's clutch. He is clearly the Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods of swimming.
