As mentioned on SpoFi's front page, CBC screwed the ice-skating pooch in negotiations for the classic Hockey Night in Canada theme tune. As a result, they recently started an online contest to find a replacement. If you check it out, you'll note that none but the newest additions have a rating higher than 2/5 and those new uploads plummet to two stars or lower soon after appearing. In fact, the only song currently scoring highly, is this one, (be sure and read the comments too). "Hockey Scores" is so popular that it has its own supercool animation on YouTube and a Facebook group. People who suspect that the internets are afoot, corrupting an online vote in the same fashion that got us a whale called Mr Splashy Pants, would be correct.
I'd put this on the front page. It's been page-two-worthy news in Canada for a couple weeks now.
Those crazy internet kids, what will they get up to next?
Definitely front-page worthy. But the song has burned into my soul.
It might be front page worthy, if it was looped over an image of Don Cherry doing "the Robot." While wearing a fez.
Logan Aube needs to sign to Nettwerk Records right now.
