I was at the game last night. Like TB pitcher Trevor Miller said, once Jimmy Rollins loses that routine pop up in the rain, if they were going to suspend the game, that was the time. Jimmy Rollins is one of the best defensive SS in the game and where he may be stupid enough to bad mouth Phillie fans on Nation TV rather than local, he doesn't drop pop ups. It started raining an hour and a half before the game and every forecast I seen predicted it would get nothing but worse as the night went on. No problem, now Selig joins his Umps in giving TB 2 more runs, runs Rollins would have shut down most likely if not for the conditons. So blame Selig, and Fox (might as well throw ex Phillie Tim Mc Carver and Joe Buck in there too, a couple more real assh*les) for even starting and then ruining the most important baseball game of the year, grab a beer and some popcorn, wait through the 30 minute Obama delay on Fox with the biggest piece of sh*t to ever hold public office, Biden, by his side, and then enjoy the Phillies finally come back and take the title, ah, that felt good, lol.

Heheh..Imiss...Ya gotta trust me on this one. My source isn't the kind of person who talks just to hear himself. And Smoke and Jr already race like their partners, why would he want to race with Gordo. When my source told me and me buds Sat at the ARCA race, we were sitting in his motorhome and his wife says "should I tell them" kinda like she was holding a huge secret. I know it sounds crazy with all the hype out there, but thinking the whole thing over, I'm still going with the longshot and my source. The timing of the rumor and JRs announcement just seems too close for me. The fact that Gibbs doesn't want any alcohol sponsors and the way the source brought out the Visa thing plays a part in my guess too. I'm a Gibbs guy too and so so with Jr. If he goes with Hendrick, he's gonna make a whole lot of new enemies, fan wise, that is. Well, we'll find out in a couple hours....Be Good

All the Big Media sources, ESPN, SI, etc. all say he's going to Hendricks but they just say all info points to Hendrick. I have a real good source with a connection to Gibbs who told me Sat it's all but a done deal he's going to Gibbs and Visa will replace Bud as his sponsor. Knowing their connection and hearing their confidence, plus the timing of this announcement, just days after the news, I'm going with the longshot pick and say he goes to Gibbs. If he does, just remember, you heard it here first, heheh.

Barbaro wasn't kept alive for future breeding dollars as some of the misinformed would love to believe. Barbaro wasn't an ordinary horse, he was a Champion. I was 50 yards from the finish line at Churchill Downs when he left the rest of the field behind to win the Derby and fulfill the dreams of the owners. When he broke the gate at the Preakness, to me it showed what kind of Champion he really was and if not for the tragedy that occurred that day, myself and many experts felt he had a great shot of winning the Triple Crown, the first since Affirmed close to 30 years ago. The owners had the means, more than enough money (enough where they need not worry about future stud fees) and love for the creature that made their dreams come true to try to save him. They were Major contributors to one of the best animal hospital facilitys in the country and it was located in their own back yard, so if the Vet gave him even the lousy 5% chance he did, why not go for it. From the git. the doc said it was going to be a long, long, battle and as soon as Barbaro got to the point where the pain was too much and they couldn't keep him comfortable, the Battle would be ended. Well, after just a month ago, when it seemed like The Champ was only weeks away from moving to the beautiful green pastures of Kentucky, this turn for the worse occured and now, for the sake of The Champ, the Battle is over. May be hard for some to believe, but it's not always about the money. I went on ebay after returning from the Derby this year to find an 8x10 of Barbaro. I actually found one of Barbaro crossing the finish line and in the background, dead center, right above Barbaros back, up in the first row of the infield bleachers was a shot of me and my buddy cheering him on. I contacted the photographer and he hooked me up with a poster sized, I have framed and hanging on the wall. It'll stay there along with the other greats, Go For Wand, Ruffian, Secretariat and the rest, til the day my Battle is over. Howard, believe me, Buddy, you and the wife weren't the only ones shedding tears today.

Despite the fact that Howard led the Phils to a better record than the Cards. I'ts almost scary to think where his numbers would've ended up if he would have had a Rolen, instead of a Burrell or Dellucci, hitting behind him. Opposing mgrs were walking him before the game even started.

mjk....about 10 1/2 years to answer your question. Stopped at the Kentucky Horse Park while down to the Derby. Went to visit ole John Henry, still kicking at 31 or 107 depending how you look at it.
