T.O. in Big D Terrell Owens has reached an agreement in principle to join the Dallas Cowboys. The signing comes six years after he showed contempt for the franchise by spiking two touchdowns on the star at the midfield of Texas Stadium, the second of which resulted in George Teague drawing the most beloved unsportsmanlike conduct foul in Cowboys history.

He may be the north end of a south bound horse, but a good receiver. If the boys have a good start he will be good for a season. If not then the CFL. Since I am a skins fan I hope he likes cold weather.

America's Favorite Player Released. The man who has given sportsblogs across America things to talk about over the course of the past few months has finally been released and is free to find another team. Even if you're oblivious to everything in the sports world, you can tell something went bad when the team announces his release in a one sentence statement.

I hope he goes to Dallas in as much as I hate the Cowboys. Is there something in the water that wide receivers drink? Go Redskins!

Father of former ASU player sues ASU for not controlling his son? This is almost as stupid as that lady spilling coffee on herself and suing McDonalds because she got burned. The kid was college aged. He should be able to control whether or not he should go to a bar.

posted by Wrigley South at 10:41 AM on March 09

The McDonalds woman was an idiot to do what she did. To think that the University is reponsible for what an adult did off campus is as ridiculous. Both should get tossed so far out of court as the first bounce should occur in Maryland.

A drug is more important to Mr. Williams then football. He has made his choice.

Not only banned, but busted too? Russian biathlete Olga Pyleva, was suspended for 2-years after testing positive for a stimulant. Is it ethical for a government to then press drug charges against the athlete?

If you can't do the time don't do the crime. To use U.S. standards is wrong. Amount of time in the forum does not change a fact. This is Italian law. It is up to Italians to enforce it or not, and not worry about a bunch of North Americans trying to force their opinion. It would be like the French trying to force their opinion on the U.S., Whoops they did that, and got an appropriate response.

Bryant Gumbel Torches Olympics "Count me among those who don't like them and won't watch them ... Because they're so trying, maybe over the next three weeks we should all try too. Like, try not to be incredulous when someone attempts to link these games to those of the ancient Greeks who never heard of skating or skiing. Try not to laugh when someone says these are the world's greatest athletes, despite a paucity of blacks that makes the Winter Games look like a GOP convention. Try not to point out that something's not really a sport if a pseudo-athlete waits in what's called a kiss-and-cry area, while some panel of subjective judges decides who won ... So if only to hasten the arrival of the day they're done, when we can move on to March Madness -- for God's sake, let the games begin."

I do not care for many of the games in either the summer or winter games. Not because of the racial mix of the teams. I watch what I like, and frequently watch things I do not know about, to widen my knowledge base and who knows I may like it. I do not count the participants by how many of what ethnic group are involved as he does. If it is competative it is good, and if not or it is boring then it is not so good. The games are being played for world consumption, and so what may be loved in northern Canada may not be liked in California. Some New Yorkers may not care for some of the sports but so what.

Italian law is being dealt with here, so it does not matter what U.S. law would be or the justice system. So anyone trying to compare to U.S. system should leave the forum. Now if you have something worthwhile to say regarding Italian law then have at it. From an Italian perspective, and maybe some care should be taken in China. Where local law takes over. Don't leave the U.S. and break the law there unless you want to do their time.

Mike Davis resigns as Indiana University basketball coach. Most stories say the resignation will be effective at the end of the season, others say it will take effect immediately. IU has called a news conference at 3:30pm EST today. IU President Adam Herbert and AD Rick Greenspan will also be in attendance. Who's next for Indiana, and what's next for Davis?

posted by Sister Havana at 01:15 PM on February 17

IU botched their dealings with Knight, and then compounded it by allowing the players to in effect choose his replacement. I am no fan of the Big 10 (11), but enjoy watching good basketball wherever it may be. Steve Alford would meet the requirement of a home grown product. IU might be better to recruit for then Iowa.

Remind me not to go hunting with Dick Cheney. USA VP shoots 78-year-old Texas lawyer with shotgun while hunting quail. So many jokes in there I don't know where to start. (The lawyer is doing fine.)

Luckily the President and the vice president did not have similar recreation plans.

Game's Third team Upstaged Steelers, Seahawks Three weeks ago, after the Steelers held on to upset Indianapolis, Joey Porter was unhappy about the overturning of Troy Polamalu's fourth-quarter interception that could have sealed the win much earlier. Believing that deep down the league preferred Peyton Manning and the Colts to win, Porter publicly criticized the game officials, asking them not to "take the game from us."

I iitially tuned in because I wanted to see a good game as I did not care who won the game. Neither team I follow was remotely involved. When I recognized the bad officiating I turned it off, as it was not a good game.

An old baseball story comes to mind. Jackey Robinson has slid into third base and the umpire has called him out. The umpire says "you know you are safe and I know you are safe, but 35,000, people see me with my thumb up, therefore you are out." Heck of a lot more people saw the Refs with their thumbs up. There was the observation of the low percentage of times that this particular crew overturned calls. They were following form, compound one mistake with another.

When I saw the pass interference penalty called, I changed the channel with the statment that the Steelers have won the game, because of the officiating, and not to watch anymore, because the Seahawks must beat the refs and that is more difficult then beating the black and gold. On ESPN I saw other examples of Refs blowing it. I use the term blowing it, because I do not want to believe the alternative.

Those poor babies can only talk trash, because they do not have the brain cells to do anything else. If they don't think they can win stay off the field, and quit flapping their gums. Of course both of these guys think they will win and they have expressed that in the only means they know, demeaning the other.
