Peyton Manning's Monkey Has Died

Dungy, the monkey, Peyton, ....everyone seems to miss the point of SBXLI. The MVP of that game was undoubtably Rex Grossman, ...MVP for the Colts that is. What a pathetic choking display that was. He seems to have the leadership ability of George Bush. Do your three snaps (if you can hold on to the snap at all) and run to the sidelines to study pictures. He gave the Colts an emotional lift every time he walked on the field. When he wasn't throwing interceptions he was fumbling the snap and playing soccer with himself. Why Lovie didn't put in a backup QB in the middle of the 3rd quarter is a mystery, obviously Grossman (gross, . . .man) didn't have it at all. 10 men can't beat 12, especially if one of the opponents is taking the snap (on occasion, that is).

Brett Favre Coming Back For 17th Season

Nothing is classier than a pro leaving when his time has come and he/she is on top of their game (e.g., Staubach, Elsway). And nothing is more pathetic than an old pro trying to stay in a game when their body is a former shell of itself (Mays, Mantle). What's wrong with Favre as a knowledgeable backup helping groom the new kid? If a young QB goes down the team is picked up by an old pro coming in. But if an old QB goes down and is replaced by an understudy, there's not much confidence between the hash marks.

Paraglider attacked by eagles.

I've heard of curious condors accompanying ultralights for extended periods in the Andes. But I never heard of any air attacks, just vulturistic flying companions.

Bryant Gumbel in Trouble With NFL Network?

I've never been a Bryant Gumbel fan, and what he said may have been crude, sensationalist, and perhaps dead ass wrong. But I'm sick of political correctness in sports and would like to see an avenue where people could express what they think without fear of their ticket being pulled. If his information was biased and wrong, then someone should illustrate his mistake with data to the contrary. Might be pretty hard to do though because comparing one professional sport against another leads to all kinds of blind alleys.

Snooker World Championships

Ah snooker. Takes me back to my youth and the dingy, dirty pool hall filled with smoke. Past the faded green snooker tables with all those red cherries were the old men in the back cussing and playing moon. Those days and places are pretty much all gone. Without them it's no wonder our society is so screwed up now.

Shit, fan. Fan, shit

Yeah, like no one had a clue. Let's just put an asterisk* (for asshole) section in the record books for Mark, Barry, and Rafael, anyone whose numbers are so statistically out of sync with probability.

Tainted Steel

The rules committee should learn one thing from this game. Any play under review should require indisputable evidence to counter what was called on the field, ...except a touchdown. A touchdown under review should not be assumed a score unless absolute evidence indicates the ball crossed the goal line. If you don't cram it in, it shouldn't be worth 6 points. Micro guesses just isn't football.
