Miami, FIU have 31 suspended for role in brawl The fight,shown as it happened in this YouTube clip, marred what was supposed to be the beginning of a rivalry between two schools with players who grew up playing each other on high school fields in South Florida.

I guess I'll be rooting for Duke this weekend. They might stand a chance with all the Miami folks out. Seriously - there should be some heavy duty penalties handed out for this. Thank goodness, it didn't lead to stuff happening off the field between students!

University of Phoenix gets naming rights to Cardinals stadium The Arizona Cardinals played for 18 years at a college stadium in Tempe. Now the University of Phoenix, the nation's largest private university, will pay the NFL team $154.5 million over the next 20 years to put its name on the Cardinals' new home.

I be extremely ticked off if I were paying tuition for a child to go to this school. It's one thing for a corporation to put stockholder money for publicity like this but another for a college - rather public or private...

Katrina strikes again Do any SpoFiers live in Louisiana? I'd like to see more local information about this. This is horrible how they're punishing these kids after their world was destroyed.

This is a shame - I know that here in Houston, LA kids played on our local teams. We had a least one on my daughter's high school football team. You would think they could consider special circumstances for these sports last year - shame on them!

I remember Steve Garvey playing for the Dodgers when I was growing up - I'm sure there's probably a good reason, but why is he not in the HOF? He was outstanding as I remember (at least until he went to the Padres).

I've been a Braves fan since I was in High School back in the 70's - back during the 'bad' old days when we didn't win anything. I no longer live in Georgia or even the southeast so with TBS no longer carrying games I'm going through withdrawal. I love for them to win but even if they don't - I still a Braves fan...
