Tradin' paint over control of DEI Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and his stepmother, Teresa, are locked in a battle for majority ownership of Dale Earnhardt Inc. Could the son end up leaving the race team his father built, and would he be better off if he did? One NASCAR commentator seems to think so.

I was surprised Dale Sr didn't leave Jr a major piece of DEI in his will...I hope he gets it now...in my opinion...Jr is the biggest & most important asset of DEI...

Jarrett Driving a Toyota next year - Official Dale Jarrett is officially Driving a Toyota in 2007 which means 2006 will be his last year with Robert Yates.

No different than any other "main" sport...free agency...I've always liked both Jarrett & "Mikey"...it's going to be hard next season with a brand new operation...but Toyota is not going to cut any corners...I doubt they can make the chase next year...

Rocky might be returning home but at the foot of the steps? Better than nowhere I suppose. "Ordinary Philadelphians"?, what's up with that? Didn't know there was such a thing. Its about time Rocky returned to his spot overlooking one of the greatest cities in the world, I remember him up there when I was a kid. Rock on Rocky.

Nobody comes to Philly because some players had some great seasons here...Rocky is a known icon to so many people that could care less about Philly sports...I'm glad Rocky is coming out of storage...& wish it could return to the top of the Art Museum steps...

Texans Pass on Bush...Settle for Williams In 10 years we will all be looking at this moment as Houston's largest flop ever when they watch Reggie Bush become the next Barry Sanders, Matt Leinart become an All-Pro QB with his great mechanics and passing, and Vince Young become another Derek Jeter type in his clutch playing.

I don't have any rooting interest in the Texans...from my fantasy perspective...the Texans not taking Bush helps me on my team with V. Morency ((last years RB pick in 2nd round I think) if he can get those touches that D. Davis doesn't get)...I feel that M. Williams is a smart & solid pick (assuming both players are able to play to their max. potential)...not only is the team saving some cap space & don't have to worry about a "holdout"...Williams will probably be involved in 50-60 plays a game with that many chances to make in impact...Bush will definatly have some real good games...touches rush & rec plus scoring...but there will be a defense or two that stops Houston's offense cold...

Farve to return...T Owens quiet (for now)...R Williams suspended...again...Anymore more of these annual soap operas to finish this off-season...???

I got your fan appreciation RIGHT HERE! Philadelphia 76ers Allen Iverson and Chris Webber show up late and don't play on Fan Appreciation Night. "S---- will be different next year," said team president Billy King, who lost his temper early and often last night.

posted by wfrazerjr at 09:53 AM on April 19

We can't trade them (Webber's contract & lack of fair value in return for AI...30+/ppg)...so its looks like we are stuck with them...what this does seem to bear out is the "rumor" of lack of respect the players have shown toward Coach Cheeks all season...

T.O. in Big D Terrell Owens has reached an agreement in principle to join the Dallas Cowboys. The signing comes six years after he showed contempt for the franchise by spiking two touchdowns on the star at the midfield of Texas Stadium, the second of which resulted in George Teague drawing the most beloved unsportsmanlike conduct foul in Cowboys history.

I don't expect anything different in Dallas than what we got here in Philly...one good season out of owens if he thinks he's getting the ball enough...he will start after the last game of the season which won't be the Superbowl...

America's Favorite Player Released. The man who has given sportsblogs across America things to talk about over the course of the past few months has finally been released and is free to find another team. Even if you're oblivious to everything in the sports world, you can tell something went bad when the team announces his release in a one sentence statement.

He's happy in the beginning and he plays like "the" best WR in the NFL... pauleye I agree we got a good yr out of him...but downhill after that... I suggest to any team that signs him...make it a 1 yr deal & take the cap hit...get your 1 good yr...any more than that & you will have a problem...it wouldn't surprise me if he does end up in Dallas or any nfc east team just to play the Eagles twice next season...

Longtime Temple coach Chaney retires Great career but he had a temper too.

posted by dbt302 at 02:37 PM on March 14

Chaney definatly had his "bad temper moments"...but over his Temple career... I believe there was more positive for the program than negative...but his day has definatly passed...(Joe Pa...take note)...

Beating the clock NHL general managers waited until the last minute to pull off the biggest deals at the trading deadline, including Mark Recchi to Carolina and Sergei Samsonov to Edmonton. Who won, who lost and what the hell are the Leafs paying John Ferguson Jr. for?

I'm glad the Flyers made a few "minor" moves...warm bodies today for future draft picks & a minor leaguer that didn't show much when he played with the big team this season...

There's plenty of blame all around in this situation...but let's dump some of the blame on these kids parents or legal guardians too...are they looking out for the kids...or the "bling-bling" from a pro contract the chances are the kid will never get...
