Barbaro pulls up lame in Preakness After a fidgety pre-race afternoon, breaking through the gate and false-starting, and a good clean start, Kentucky Derby winner and strong favorite Barbaro was pulled up in the opening lengths of the Preakness by jockey Edgar Prado after taking a bad step and injuring his right hind ankle. The attending veterinarian said that it "looks like a significant injury".

trolling?,, nah,, just a quick thought was all. Just because horses have been saddled for thousands of years doesn't make it right in my opinion.

I am surprised no one brought up the fact that the tragedy is that horses shouldn't have a saddle on their backs.

Floyd Patterson , the first man to regain the world heavyweight title, has died at the age of 71. Floyd Patterson through the years.

I met Floyd once at a Golden Gloves event and though I was only about 12 at the time He took the time to talk to me and gave me his autograph. A wonderful man he was, left an impression on me to this day. My prayers go out to his family. Thank you Floyd.

Pistons stand in LeBron's way, just as they did for Jordan. "Before Jordan became a champion, he was fodder for the Pistons in three straight postseasons."

What Lebron is about to find out is that Detroits defense is not as soft as Washingtons. A couple of hard fouls inside should slow his game up a bit.

Sandis Ozolinsh charged with DWI The seven time all-star, who was acquired by the Rangers from Anaheim in March, was reportedly pulled over for speeding at 11am. The officer noted "a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage" and a sobriety field test revealed that Ozolinsh had a blood-alcohol level of .17 percent. That more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent.

If I played as bad as he did in the Devils series I'd have a drink too.

Win or lose, Guillen stays the same "He's a player's manager, and you have to love playing for him."

He might be back in the World Series this year too.

Bud says no celebration for Barry when (or if?) he breaks Ruth's record. It's fine with me if he never steps foot on a diamond again.

I wonder if McGuire played long enough and passed Ruth would Selig be there.

Giants sign Arrington to $49 million deal LaVar Arrington signed with the New York Giants on Saturday, giving him a chance to play twice a year against his former team and helping fill a huge gap at linebacker for the NFC East champions.

if Chicago scored 17 points they had a great day. That won't get it done.

This is a great pickup for the Giants and yes it does put them closer to a Super Bowl shot.

Some Cup History and Some Interesting Links After seeing a Hip-Hopper with the Stanley Cup I just had to post a history link for newbies to Hockey or those who just don't understand why some of us revere it so much.

So...who's for real and who's a pretender so far? Isn't it a little early in the year for this though? I mean I think my Tigers are for real too, but if they start thinking so too it might jinx them. As for the Yankees, I'm not so sure they look as much like an October team as years past.

I keep hearing cards every year yet no championships,,, and they get walked on in the world series
