Marcus Vick's downward spiral continues... The former Virginia Tech quarterback, kicked off the team last week for unsportsmanlike behavior and legal troubles, now has more of the latter, after allegedly brandishing a gun during an argument in a McDonald's parking lot.

Baseball Writers' Association of America Hall of Fame Ballot Voting results will be announced Jan. 10th. Oral Hershiser, Dwight Gooden, Albert Belle and Will Clark are amoung the 14 1st time candidates. The writers submit their ballots this weekend and if it's like last year they are very unlikely to pick a 1st timer (Wade Boggs was only the 4th 1st time 3rd Baseman ever elected last year). I hope Ozzie Guillen, (World Series Title not withstanding) Gary DiSarcina and others aren't waiting for the phone to ring. Without at least 5% of the vote from the previous year you can't stay on the ballot. Only 1 player (Willie McGee) stands as a returnee as a 1st timer last year on this years ballot. 29 players in all are up for vote. Who's going to make it?

2006 NFL Mock Draft The order is out. 1. Houston 2. New Orleans 3. Tennessee 4. New York Jets 5. Green Bay 5. Oakland/SF 7. SF/Oakland 8. Buffalo 9. Detroit 10. Arizona What do these guys need, who will they take?

Bush to Houston. Young to Saints, because of proximity to Texas, Young will sell tickets. Titans will take Ferguson, Leinhart, Cutler, or as I suspect, trade down. The Jets have the worst GM in football, and will take the wrong player. They need an OT in the worst way, and if they choose one, it willnot be the right one. Green Bay takes Williams. Oakland takes Cutler or Leinhart, whoever is still available
Ex-Ohio State Star Runner Wanted for Armed Robbery Maurice Clarrett is wanted by Police on Sunday after being accused of using a gun to rob 2 people behind an alley in Columbus, Ohio.

Johnny Damon to sign with Yanks. That sound you hear is that of millions of Bostonian females wailing in unison.

Ron Artest wishes to be traded. Some rather hot-headed analysis here. I don't understand what this guy is thinking.

JULIO FRANCO 2 year contract with Mets for 2 million plus The Mets agreed to a $2.2 million, two-year deal with Franco on Friday, luring baseball's oldest player away from NL East rival Atlanta and giving them a, well ... `mature' backup for new first baseman Carlos Delgado. Most free agents in their mid-to-late 30s can't attract a multiyear offer. Franco has one at age 47 — and he wants to keep playing until he's at least 50.

Single Season All-Time Team With the caveat that you can only choose one player from each franchise. Ruth or Mantle? Gibson or Musial? My picks are forthcoming....

Delgado to Mets. Fire sale continues. So much for being closer to home.
