Owens Says He Felt 'Used' by Eagles Owens says "You all used me to win a lot of games...". What? Isn't that what a " Job " is? The same argument could be used for anybody who works; " The city used me to collect garbage", if your in sanitation, that's your job. What happened to the beloved "I don't...worry about what people think. People hated on Jesus." T.O that we all used to love? Hard to feel sorry for a multi-millionaire.

Two Buck Chuck ----What would you do if you had a son as mouthy as T.O. Here's aguy who has the world by the ass, anything he wants he could buy but he still has to act like a spoiled brat, which he is. He does ridiculous things to draw attention and then gets pissed when he's criticized. I'm surprised that after some of his antics on the field some six foot, eight inch, 350 lber hasn't cold-cocked him.

After struggling with one of the gunmen, Richardson was shot four times. He fell back on his father, who had a bullet hole through his jacket but was unhurt. For the second time, Quentin Richardson and his family bury a brother that was fatally shot on the streets of Chicago.

Maybe if police had the right to stop anyone suspected of carrying a concealed weapon and follow that with a 20 year manditory prison sentence we could get these gang bangers off the street. It wouldn't bother me to be stopped if we we could use this to rid the streets of handguns.

Weak FA Market It seems to run in cycles. This year's FA market is WEAK. Damon is good, but not a long term pickup. I like Furcal, but he is REALLY frustrating as a lead of hitter. Other than that, the market is bad. Remember a few years back when the Rockies paid BIG money for Denny Neagle? He didn't last long and he was the premier FA pitcher hat year. It seems like decent pitches or hitters who are the best of a week market make a killing: Furcal 5 years 50 mill or so Paul Byrd 2 years, 14.5 mill

How about ex-Cub flops Kyle Farnsworth at $15 mil. over 3 years and Tom Gordon at $9 mil. over 3 years. Some of these G.M.'s must be selling coke on the side.

Deion Defends PlayMaker and T.O. Huh? The Mouth of The South is shown support by The Former Mouth of The South.

As far as pre-game shows, I only watch cartoons or old westerns. Gooo Bears.

TO is a prime example of what owners should not do. Why do they keep offering these idiotic, not guaranteed , long term contracts? Especially to assholes like TO.

Does this guy have any credability left? Palmero states a vitamin B-12 shot may have contributed to his positive steroid test. Is this guy for real?

posted by HATER 187 at 03:38 PM on November 10

May all the steroid users follow in the footsteps of Sammy Sosa, (Struck Out Swinging Again) and just fade away. Palmeiro's biggest hustle was to his locker to get the needle to enhance his accomplishments. Sorry, no Hall of Fame.

Watching NASCAR is redneck driving lessons. It's like getting stuck in a huge cul-de-sac and you can't get out. Good to see hockey on TV in Chicago where Dollar Bill Wirtz only allows Blackhawk road games on TV. White Sox, Cubs, Bears and Bulls all have all games on TV. And Wirtz can't understand low attendance.

Manager Mike Scioscia makes a costly mistake!

"With Konerko batting and first base open, Manager Mike Scioscia could have had Santana walk the cleanup hitter and face Carl Everett with the bases loaded. But Scioscia allowed Santana to pitch to Konerko, who had a two-run homer in the first in Game 3. Scioscia thought Santana could make good pitches to Konerko, a decision he probably regretted."

Ozzie Guillen's team, on the other hand, is playing good fundamental baseball :"Ozzie Ball" they call it. The players have the right attitude, and want this pennant more than their counterparts. They hustle 110%, they don't sulk about umpiring calls, they run the plays through and then wait for the umpires' calls, unlike the Angels, who "expect" to get the calls and do not finish the plays, either by not tagging the runner or not running at 100% when they expect an interfirience call, etc. In both cases, The Angels' players could have ended the controversial plays to their favor if they had followed some major sports principals - finish the play; do not assume anything; give 100%; and don't take anything for a given!

The White Sox have had an amazing year, it is all very clear as to why: "Ozzie Ball"

And then follow all this up with the Angel's pitcher tagging the runner with his glove while holding the ball in his other hand. The ump had this wrong at first too. This crew might get assigned to the Little League World Series next year.

Playoffs don't need Berman's embellishments Couldn't agree more. Berman is good on Sportscenter, but not in the booth.

posted by drevl at 09:25 AM on October 08

If you listen to anybody too much they eventually get on your nerves as do Berman, Carey, Musberger, etc. Heck, even my wife eventually gets to me.

St. Louis Blues sold for 50% more than 1999 market value. The purchase price for the Blues is particularly noteworthy since the club lost a league-high $47 million in 2003-04, its last year of operation. [via]

The Checkerdome In StLouis sounds like the old Chicago Stadium. I aged many a minute in the urinal line. I thought "Dollar Bill Wirtz" was the loudest crier about losing money with his Blackhawks. But when you have a lot you must make more and screw the dumb fans who contnue to pay ridiculous prices.

Burk plans to protest new NHL ad campaign Martha Burk couldn't get Augusta National to blink. Now she's turning her attention to hockey. Think about it, Martha. It's the NHL. How many people can even see the ad?

What'd Jew say? The Washington Nationals have suspended their chapel leader after he nodded in the affirmative when asked whether Jews were doomed. No information was given about on his feelings about the Nationals being doomed.

The only time I'd want a chaplain in the locker room would be if he could pinch-hit, pinch run or play some good defense. Save the sermons for sunday church for those who want to attend.
