Arlen Specter takes T.O.'s side Huh? Anti Trust suit?

posted by Wrigley South at 08:10 AM on November 29

If Specter didn't side with despicable and morally bankrupt people they would take his Republican card away from him. This is just another case of a politician that is so far out of touch with reality that he has to take up inconsequential causes that do not and should not concern him. He needs to focus on doing what the people of Pennsylvania pay him to do, get in bed with the Oil companies and big business and try to cater everything he does to the right wing religious zealots. That is the GOP way of life.

Takeru “The Tsunami” Kobayashi sets a new world hamburger-eating record

"69 Krystals in eight minutes is astounding. Kobayashi is, without a doubt, the greatest eater ever to live upon planet earth," said David Baer of the International Federation of Competitive Eating.

Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas, the 102-pound phenom from Alexandria, VA, took second place and $5,000 by eating 46 Krystal hamburgers and rounding out third for $2,500 was Richard "The Locust" LeFevre of Henderson, NV, with 41 Krystal hamburgers.

I once ate 3 hot dogs at a game and I thought I was going to die. I almost didn't make it to the latrine in time. I feel bad for the poor bastard that had to clean out that shitter. Lets just say from now on, I get the nachos.

First leg of World Cup playoffs begins tomorrow, second leg four days later 27 countries have qualified for Germany '06 and 10 more will battle it out for the last 5 positions. Is it finally time for the Men from Oz to break their 32 year drought? Any predictions?

Time for the Euro's to try to shove this sport down our throats again. Give up, no one in America cares about soccer. It is boring and there is no scoring. Plus all that kicking is effeminate, it is like watch a Chorus Line on grass.

MLB Managers of the Year Fourth for Bobby Cox, first for Ozzie Guillen. "Scrap Iron" finishes third, but gets no first place votes.

posted by The_Black_Hand at 03:29 PM on November 10

Gullien and Cox were the most deserving. What I don't get is how Tony Larussa and Joe Torre can come in 2nd and 3rd, respectively. LaRussa took a team from being in the World Series in 2004, to losing in the NLCS in 2005. That is regression. You can't make a case for someone being manager of the Year when their team has a worse season then the previous year. Especially when they had virtually the same players as the previous year and stayed relatively healthy (aside from Scott Rolen). Torre is another one that should not be considered, the guy doesn't have to manage at all. He puts the same lineup in every night and hopes his pitcher goes 6 innings to set up for Gordon and Rivera. He has the liberty of a $250 payroll and he can't even get the Yankees out of the first round. If you're the Yankees and your team doesn't win the world series, then you don't even deserve to be mentioned with guys that actually have to manage their teams like Ozzie Gullien, Eric Wedge, Ned Yost, Frank Robinson and Phil Garner.

The NBA's ugliest Uniforms A listing of the NBA's worst uniforms. Pretty funny actually

posted by koolmo at 11:32 AM on October 31

None are uglier than the Cleveland Cavaliers home uni's from 1995 to 1999. With the Powder Blue Paint Splash in the front and the stupid ass logo in blue and black. There was a rumor going around in C-Town that former blind owner Gordon Gund designed the uniform, but that was never proven. Anyway, whoever designed those pieces of trash should have been beaten with a tire iron.

ESPN fires Trev Alberts And I thought ESPN was one big happy family!

At least his gig at ESPN lasted longer than his NFL career. Didn't the Colts waste a top 10 pick on him?

One-time Giants QB Jesse Palmer got the ball rolling with a featured appearance as the Bachelor. Now we will soon see ex-Dallas Cowboys QB Gary Hogeboom as a competitor on Survivor while Chris Valletta (previously connected to the Saints, Titans and Bucs) will be fodder for the Donald on the Apprentice. Obviously, NFLers bring tremendous reality TV intangibles and upside! (cause three examples makes a trend).

I'm holding out for the Lawrence Phillips variety hour. We could watch him tossing pregnant women down flights of stairs.

A few ommisions that should make honorable mention: DE- Leonard Little- getting all wasted and killing a woman in a car wreck. WR- Andre Rison- Renting all that crap under a fake name from Rent-a-Center and "forgetting" to take take it back. RB- Bam Morris- currently in jail for violating his parole, Originally Picked up on a minor traffic violation and they found 50 lbs of weed in his trunk. Tried to say it was a rental car and he didn't know it was in there. (Damn, I rented a car from Avis and there wasn't even enough pot in it for one joint.)
