Man U and Arsenal managers give up on title. After the former champions fought to an 0-0 draw yesterday, Arsenal (who went a whole season undefeated just two seasons ago) manager Wenger said: "The players were less nervous because we are not going for the title - we cannot compete with Chelsea." Utd manager Ferguson said: "Chelsea's consistency is beyond us." Man Utd (2nd) and Arsenal (6th) are 13 and 24 pts behind Chelsea. It's only halfway through the season, with 17 more rounds to go.

You must have coached Liverpool Texan, Idon't understand how people can say that they have given up... There are plenty of teams that come from behind to win week i week out. People need to start watching more than one game before they start passing judgement on the greatest league, of all sports.

Germany will win there group and england will win theirs, I being biased towards England think that England will play the germans or Argentina in the Final. I hope Argentina as there will be alot of trouble after the game if we play the Germans. Hopefully we can get a World cup where the highlights will be England winning it and not getting deported from it.
No UEFA Cup for ManU! For the first time in 11 years, Manchester United failed to move past the group stages of the Champions League. Finishing bottom in Group D also means the Reds won't compete for the UEFA Cup either. Are Sir Alex Ferguson's days at Old Trafford numbered?

Nike marketing soccer outside the 'burbs Short but cool video attempting to take the great game away from moms with vans and to the "trailer homes in Texas." Heh. I like the idea behind the project but dislike the "this American game" reference. My head tells me Americanizing the world game is the only way to sell it to our inner city youths but damn, do we always have to take the inventions of others and make them our own?

Michael Owen signs up with Newcastle. Following up on a past post, the deal was done for an undisclosed Newcastle "club record" fee that puts the deal at over GBP15m paid for Alan Shearer, Owen's new strike partner. The BBC suggests that Liverpool may hijack the deal at the eleventh hour and there are numerous contract "out-clauses" based on team performance that may release Owen from his four-year commitment. If Liverpool doesn't steal Owen (as they did taking Sissoko from Everton), it'll be strange and scary to see him line up against his home club.

Football fans are idiots Football is pricier, more uncompetitive and less atmospheric than ever. So why do supporters still lap it up, asks a bemused Sean Ingle

Drallig, the question should be Why are Americans comparing American Football to the real Football? Because they are ignorant. They have to make themselves feel better for spending $75+ a game then $13 for a beer and a soggy hot dog then get to there seats and realize they are watching a grown man fondle another grown mans ass. I have played Football all my life, and i own season tickets to the Carolina Panthers (going to the SB this year). But as for yank ball being the #1 team sport in the world you must be retarded, so if you don't have any common sense keep words out of your own mouth. P.S. The MLS is not Professional Soccer
RZA neither of your post have been on topic so keep your rants about manning somewhere else.
