Jim Brown calls out Tiger Woods I thought that Tiger handled this very well. Apparently Jim Brown thinks Tiger should have called in Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

Howard T, not before some of us get embarrassed but before we "seem" like asses for expressing our true feelings.

Stroh's Lite: The Houston Astros, mired in a pathetic 58 - 73 season just two years removed from a World Series appearance, fired Manager Phil Garner and General Manager Tim Purpura today. Things had gotten so bad that Purpura was actually booed during ceremonies honoring Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio. The good news in all this? Cecil Cooper is now a Major League Baseball Manager (and team president)! Coooooop!

Earnhardt Jr. to Hendrick, Kyle Busch out of #5 Kellogg's car? Press conference at 11AM Eastern tomorrow.

I would have loved to see him go to Gibbs, because im a " Gordon Hater". The fact of the matter is, is that Jr will now win races. and win many. And that excites me. I still dislike Gordon and will be pissed when he beats Jr. But like Jr said " Now he dosent have any excuses when I beat him". Watching Jr today I havent seen him so refreshed in the last 6 years. I think he feels more at home with RHM. Get'em Junebug.

Canseco "juiced" to be back in baseball Not going to happen but would love to see the Giants pick him up. Who's next, McGwire?

posted by ptluigi at 05:20 AM on June 30

I enjoy the "Where are they now" but I feel this is different. Canseco is a schmuck, period end of story, and Ricky is a waste of God given talent. These two just piss me off. I would give my middle nut to have Ricky's talent. I am from Austin and I love Ricky. I dont think he's NEWS worthy. I check his stats. I just think they have both lost their right to be in main stream media. A headline on EVERY sports feed I have is ridiculous

How is this news worthy. Just like Ricky in the CFL. I dont care if he has 14 yards on two carries in an Argonauts loss. I dont care if Canseco can hit an undeveloped 20 year old. This is not news worthy. All bullshit aside, who gives a damn.

Minor League Manager Goes Berserk

I know of this guy, his brother lives about 30 minutes from me. They say his brither was twice the player than Joe was, but was twice as hot headed. That would have cool to see.

From the Green Monstah to the green flag... Former Red Sox outfielder Mike Greenwell, who's been tooling around the Florida Late Model Stock Car racing circuit for nearly ten years now, made his debut in the NASCAR-sponsored Craftsman Truck Series Memorial Day weekend, finishing 26th in the City of Mansfield 250.

What do you consider athleticism, only an athlete can hit a 95 mph heater. How good is your arm, strong enough to throw a line drive home from 300 out to gun down the winning run. Who did you sign with again. Thought so. Same goes for Nascar drivers. Last week they raced 600 miles, 4 hrs and 40 minutes. Track temp was 112 when race started. Thats insane.

"People don't understand what's going on here" The San Antonio Express-News examines the Texas Racing Commission's database of horse injuries, documenting a sport where injuries like Barbaro's are more common than you might think. At Retama Park near San Antonio, a horse died every six days during the park's 67-day season last year.

Week 1 MLB power rankings released. Now that spring training has officially started, where does your favorite team rank and do you agree with their placement?

posted by erkno11 at 08:58 AM on February 17

No love for the Stros. The only thisng these rankings are good for is setting up "Cinderella seasons". Clemens or not, the Astros are better than 16th. Go Birds said it, garbage. What a load.

Stewart Rips NASCAR For 'Dangerous' Racing Defending Nextel Cup series champion Tony Stewart criticized superspeedway racing following his third-place finish in the Budweiser Shootout on Sunday, saying ``we're going to hurt somebody really, really bad.'' Is restrictor-plate racing too dangerous?

posted by wingnut4life at 07:32 PM on February 13

I think your assesment of the drivers not being agressive next Sunday is under rated. iIt is "THE DAYTONA 500", the most coveted race win in Nascar. Remember who told you, the "BIG ONE" is going to be BIG.

Watching the way those guys raced, Im am not sure if I really want to watch the 500. bad gut feeling. Surely something can be done. On another note anyone know how the meeting the 99 car had after the race went. Poor judgement in my eyes on both parties.

Biggest reason for my concern is I want to see Vince in Tennessee. Not in Houston.
