Cheapshot (3.9 mb wmv) - Brad Butler, offensive tackle for UVA was suspended for one game for chop blocking ACC preseason player of the year Mathias Kiwanuka on his injured right ankle from behind and after the whistle on a third quarter play of a 28-17 Cavaliers loss. He was not ejected during the game, however. Al Washington of BC was, after jumping on top of Butler.

Texas 30 - Baltimore 3 ... wasn't an NFL preseason matchup but the rather the Rangers posting the highest major league run total in 110 years. I guess there is no mercy rule in the MLB.

Oh also, they had the "sonic slam" 6th inning where a fan would win $25,000 if someone hit a grand slam in the 6th. Tonight is the only night I've ever seen it happen.

Considering the rangers aren't playing for much this season this was a small bright spot for them. I'm glad I got to see it live.

Also note that Dan talked to Bacsik yesterday discussing this with him. I'm not saying he did it, but it is suspicious.

Interesting fact: Mike Bacsik was an intern for two sports radio hosts in Dallas 2 summers ago and have since stayed in touch with each other. They've been recently talking about the possibility of giving Bonds an easy pitch so that Bacsik could be the one in the history books. They were supposed to have Bacsik on the show today but decided that he shouldn't talk about laying one up for Bonds on the air before it happened. Now he's supposed to be on the show tomorrow.

what pure bullshit. Finleys hipcheck is ok but terrys reaction is way over the line? why not fine him? Why does the nba want to fuck up the best series it has? You can bet Finley will get booed like nothing else now.

Well, once the hits started pouring, I imagine there were people there just to see how far it would go. Hell, by the last hit of the game the fans were cheering the rangers. And I imagine you'd like to be the guy that grabbed that last homer ball.
