Manny Ramirez wants to be traded according to Tom Verducci of Sports Illustrated. Citing a lack of privacy off the field, this is Manny's third trade request in four years. However, Manny is still one of the Major's best hitters and in in the end, probably won't be dealt.

The Designated Hitter harming MLB "...whether Selig realizes it or not, the dearth of pitching in baseball, especially in the AL, is threatening to make a travesty of his game." Look at these numbers, 38% of qualifying pitchers (this season) in the AL have an ERA below 4.00, while 62% of NL pitchers are below the mark. With every passing season, it's becoming more clear how much of a joke pitching in the AL has become and with the exception of a select few, teams will continue to struggle. Hopefully, sooner than later the DH will become a thing of the past in the AL.

I'd gladly change the link, directly to the SI Previews but there is no option for me to do so. I'm sorry I violated the rules. I haven't visited in quite some time but after looking over the guidelines, realize my mistake. Sorry, again, please change the link in my original post to... sportsillustrated.cnn.com

Meet Ryan Howard Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard took a different route to becoming a potential MVP candidate, including balancing marching band practice with football practice.

As a Mets fan, he's probably the guy who will take the NL MVP Award (as long as the Phil's make the post-season). There's no way to argue against the voters in that case either.

Barry Bonds an Angel? At the end of his column today, Randy Youngman helps spread the rumor that Barry Bonds could become an Angel next season. I think I'll move!

No way in hell the Giants let Bonds go. He sells TIX....period. Without him, they would hardly turn a profit (if at all).

Draft Lottery is none of your business says the NHL...An unbiased opinion would be dumbfounded by this rejection of much needed media attention. My biased opinion sees this move as a solid assurance Crosby will be a Ranger. [via]

It's policies like this one that gives trouble to the NHL when it tries to reach out to fans. I'm praying that Crosby will be a Ranger but who the hell knows. The Rangers have sucked for way too long...it's about time it's paid off in some way.

Man impersonated Roethlisberger, St. Pierre to get dates OK, this is pretty bad but how about the reverse? Would any of you guys date a woman who claims she's Anna Kournikova?

Are people that stupid? When a guys pickup line begins with "Hey, I'm the QB of the Pittsburgh Steelers", you'd think the girl would get a bit suspicious.

Back to NY Al Leiter, 39, had a 3-7 record with a 6.64 ERA in 2005. He walked 60 batters in 80 innings, while giving up 88 hits before he was DFAd by the Marlins. And now, he's a Yankee. I know they needed something but I don't know if it was this guy.

Leiter has been done for a year now. He'll get his 100+ pitches through 3 innings and then the bullpen will mop it up. Yanks are in desperation at the moment.

Statistics Don't Win Ballgames The Angels' performance on the field is a great example of why statistics don't win ballgames and why the Angels may take it all again this year.

Health is really their only obsticle. Hopefully, Casey Kotchman is moved to the east.
