Sports Bio

I'm a major Senator and Pensacola IcePilot fan. I lived in Florida for 42 years before moving to Hawaii in 03. I fell in love with hockey when Pensacola got a ECHL team from Nashville. I became an off-ice offical doing the shot counts and later doing goals and assist. I really enjoyed my time doing this, but as you can figure there is no need for this here in Hawaii. I've alot of friends that I have made over the years who played in Pensacola and went on to play in the NHL. One that I follow now in John Tripp who plays for the LA Kings. Another good and close friend Darrin Madeley who was Ottawa's first goalie when they came into the Leauge. I right now just pray for a great season and to get the fever going again.

World Title Number Seven for US surfer Kelly Slater. This makes him the oldest ever world champion, as well as having once been the youngest. A fitting end (?) to a remarkable career.

Hey I live in Hawaii where as you know surfing is the big thing here, but there are some die-hard hockey fans here also. It doesn't matter what part of the world your from, it's your mentality towards diversity that matters, Explore live a little and enjoy what this great Earth that God has given us. Believe me Slater and Irons will tell you life is great in a tube, or on a bike, skate board or any other kind of sport. Just get out and go for it.

Michelle Wie DQ'd in professional debut after a Sports Illustrated reporter flagged a possible rules violation the day after it occurred. The reporter's friendly intervention cost Wie fourth place -- and a $53,126 paycheque.

I believe Mr. Bamberger wanted to the one to burst the bubble of a very good person with extreme talent. I always heard that a reporter is to report the news not make it. He should said something at that moment if he really cared about the sport. But, NOOOOO he had to be an a** and destroy Miss Wie's debut. He should be severly punished by SI, if they have any character. Also he should lose his tour reporter card.

Shaquille O'Neal finds a way to make me feel bad for hating him (version 2.0)

Shaq is a great guy, I met him in Orlando when he first came into the league, at a small place call Splash, on a Sunday night Reggea nite. I just loved the way he made time for all his fans and still made time for himself to have fun. I also loved his SUPERMAN Chevy Suburban, that was rocking machine. But, back to the subject Shaq has always been a fans dream, He doesn't care what your race, creed or whatever else people judge people with. Shaq always treats everyone the same, he is truly a great man. # 8 will never be the man Shaq is, unless he changes his ways. Tim Drury Kapolei, Hawaii

"I'm thinking about [riding the Tour de France next year]" Armstrong said Monday. "I'm thinking it's the best way to piss (the French) off."

Go for it Lance and shut these idiots up. They are so jealous of Americans to start off with. We've bailed them out twice in WWI &WWII and what do we get spit on us, spit on our flag and total disrespect of our Goverment and our way of life. Maybe they need to read thier history books again and say thank you and Mr. Armstrong thank you for making our race so popular.

Mahalo Bitches Hawaii wins little league world series championship. Down 6-3 in the last inning, Hawaii ties it then goes deep in extras to beat the defending champs from Curacao. Andrew Jones weeps.

Yeah there is no way Tenn. will No. 3, Florid is going to own them and also own the SEC. Go Gators. And on another thought USC plays Hawaii thier first game this year I know they probably win, but they better not relax, Hawaii isn't a bunch of chumps. That's why I'm a wargator, Gator by birth, Warrior by the grace of the King !!!!

I'm sorry, aren't you busy with a war or something? House Government Reform Committee chairman Tom Davis and ranking Democrat Henry Waxman have blasted the NHL for "loopholes" in its new drug-testing policy. Like there aren't other pressing issues with which to deal ...

I'm with you Wayne, I do also think Congress has more important things to be messing with than piss test for hockey. They have a war on terrorism on thier hands and they can't even come together on that.

Doug Maclean: "It just seems to be an easy name to throw in that mix. It’s out of ignorance is what it is. It’s a lack of knowledge of what’s really going on in our market." So don't be talking contraction possibility and the BJs in the same breath. Great work dispelling commonly held misconceptions by Mirtle.

I just want to say Aloha from Hawaii, and to say thank you for all the info on things happening in the hockey world, as you can figure we don't get much info about hockey out here. I'm a Pensacola IcePilot fan, a ECHL team in Pensacola, Fl. I was a off-ice official for 7 years there before moving to Hawaii. So keep the info coming and let's have a great season.
