Sam Bradford goes pro: Just days before Sam Bradford will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, he ended his reign as Oklahoma's premier passer and entered the 2010 NFL draft. Now the only question remains is how much his decision to play one more year of college has cost him in in the draft and cash.

Nascar graduates from Dukes of Hazzard to Days of Our Lives: Or maybe that's As The Wheel Turns? It's a story ripped from the headlines, famous people, infamous drugs, and a mysterious murder by suicide... It's mayfield vs Mayfield.

Coach's trial raises questions about heat deaths: After two-plus hours of practice in 94 degrees, 26 percent humidity weather, Pleasure Ridge Park football coach David Jason Stinson had seen enough of players "goofing off". The fix? Running 200 yard "gassers" until a player collapses and dies.

Memphis to vacate Final Four season: Memphis comes up smelling like a Rose, Derrick Rose. Memphis will be forced to vacate the record 38 victories from its Final Four season of 2007-08 under former coach John Calipari because of NCAA violations, The Commercial Appeal reported.

Giants ace Lincecum cited for marijuana possession

Like it or not the guy is or was a role model for a lot of young people, and this is going to dissapoint some of his fans. Not sure what MLB can do about a violation during the off season, but I would expect them to test him for this from now on.

Women's Soccer Playoff Turns Ugly

On several levels this disgusts me more than the Spikes eye gouge, maybe because its sustained dirty play over such a prolonged period and much of it seems premeditated.

I sincerely hope that her school and her coach levy some pretty severe sanctions for her actions. Of course maybe having your thug behavior aired on national tv for all your family and friends to see is a good start.

NFL's Dirtiest Player: Hines Ward

I wonder if Ward feels proud that his peers in much of the league consider him the top dirty player. Quite an accomplishment for a receiver.

Hot pink and covered top to bottom in obscure logos.

I find that oddly auto-erotic.

Hey IRFC, what I choose to wear to church is my own damn business.

I just knew I was going to offend someone from the Our Lady of Spandex Cathedral with that comment. And what are the odds that they would also be a member of the Weird Helmet Missionary Position committee?

Raiders, NFL can't allow abusive Cable to continue as head coach

Not many Raider fans liked this guy from the day he was given the head coaching job- they were shocked that he was even considered. Hell, for that matter there were a lot of people who felt he should have been fired instead of Kiffin.

Everyone rejoiced when they heard about the altercation with Hanson, feeling that Al had to act and they would finally be rid of this jackass. People were stunned that neither the Raiders or the NFL took any action, especially after the harsh penalties handed down for lesser offenses. The fans here are pretty sure that Big Al paid off the Napa DA.

I don't agree that its one thing to have a physical altercation with another man in the testosterone-fueled world of the NFL and another to hit a women. It shows a pattern and a tendency towards violence that Cable obviously has trouble controlling. Add the fact that he excused his abuse of his first wife for reasons of her adultry just deepened my disgust for this crass, classless clown.

Big Al and the NFL are stuck between a rock and a hard place here. If Al doesn't fire him and the NFL doesn't ban him, then they are condoning this type of behavior. A bad signal to send to your fans, but a worse one to send to the players.

Doctor Who Struck Cyclists Guilty in LA Road Rage Trial

I was hit by a cyclist while crossing the street a month or so ago and the guy went nuts on me

Did you get his license number?? Oh wait, bikes don't have to have licenses. I guess a description of a dude in spandex and a weird helmet might work if it didn't fit a lot of people these days and not all of them on bikes.

Florida Linebacker Tried to Eye-Gouge Opponent

What tommy said.

I played varsity football in a very competitive league, and not once in two years was I ever told by a coach to hit someone to hurt them, or to get even with an opposing player. While that happened nonetheless, I also didn't see anyone trying to gouge another player's eyes. Nuts maybe, but not eyes.

I think that there is also a great degree of ignorance in general on both sides as to what the traffic laws are that govern bicycles, not a few of which may have changed over the last twenty years. For instance, when my kids were little, we were required to get off and walk the bike across an intersection.

And bicyclists who either assume that drivers know these laws or seek to force the drivers to comply can find themselves dead right. Not to generalize, but bikers also seem to treat pedestrians the way some drivers treat bikers. I have had too many narrow escapes from bikers whizzing by on paths, trails, or even sidewalks. And bikers, just shouting "on your left" or "on your right" as you approach a pedestrian at five times their speed doesn't absolve you of responsibility if that pedestrian doesn't comply. Not every pedestrian knows or understands what those statements mean, and don't always have the time to respond.

I think a little common sense and courtesy on everyone's part would result in a much better experience for everyone.

Florida Linebacker Tried to Eye-Gouge Opponent

"that's not who he is. I love Brandon Spikes, the team does. We're going to move on. He has our full support."

I watched that video 5 times and there was nothing accidental about it, so Spikes is actually the dirty son of a bitch he is, not this docile gentle soul Meyer tries to make him out to be. I think the guy he gouged showed incredible restraint; I would have planted his cup up to his chin if it had been me.

Some responsible adult in that university's administration needs to step in, because Meyer is too wrapped up in his championship run to mete out the justice this despicable act deserves.

And Tebow's comment absolutely disgusts me. It appears that his bible thumping holier than thou act doesn't include dirty, cowardly attacks on opposing players by his team mates.

Suspension ends season for Oklahoma State's Dez Bryant

First Crabtree and now Bryant. It seems that Deion Sanders wasn't content to alienate just himself with the league and a host of fellow players, he now seems bent on putting that curse on the next generation.

How much would it be worth to you not to end up in Oakland?

Depends on the price of the contract to put a hit on Al Davis.
