A-Rod decides to play for Dominican Republic in World Classic "I am going to make the Dominicans feel proud. I want to say it out loud: I am Dominican." -- Alex Rodriguez, dual citizen of the D.R. and U.S., at the All-Star Game

Pedro thining of playing the the All Star Game?!?! What the Heck is that about This is just another example of a stuckup cocky athlete calling the shots. "Maybe I will play, I have nothing the prove" How about proving that your not an ass. And he wonders why people don't like him. this game is for the fans and he has just lost all kinds of points with Mets fans. MLB should make him play. If he is not injured, get out that and say thanks to the people who support you and pay yout over-inflated salary!!

Lackey, Kendall ejected as A's brawl past Angels "It's an absolute joke. What's disturbing here is that you can let anyone charge the pitcher and get him taken out of the game." That's Mike Scioscia's reaction to John Lackey getting ejected from a game after he threw a breaking pitch that didn't hit Jason Kendall, and Kendall charged the mound because he didn't like what Lackey said to him. Does anyone else see a problem with this?

it is coming more and more a common practice for these batters to wear these huge arm guards at the plate. The rule is the batter has to make an honest effort to get out of the way of a pitch that might hit him. Kendall (and I have followed him for almost his whole MLB stint) does not move and gets hit alot. he also stands on the plate because of his batting style. He is a catcher for Gods sake, he knows what he is doing. I say Lacky should have been tossed for fighting, not the yelling at the batter. But if I was Kendall and facing Lacky again, be ready for a large amount of fastballs about three inches inside about chest high.

"He's hitting the ball on the screws, for the most part, after not having faced live pitching all season. If Bonds would have had a spring training and been healthy all year, he'd have at least 40-50 homers." Lets not forget he only more then 50 homers once!!

I agree %100 with your words about it being impossible to make a all time list. Aaron and Cobb were both very good players and would be in the top 15 but Henderson and Mays would still be in the top 20. Pete Rose is also one of the greats and to tell the truth, he slipped my mind when thinking of people to put on the list.

For the way he played. balls out and nose to the wall all the time. Not alot of physical talent but made up for it with hard work and willingness to get the job done. I am sure anybody can find something to change in everybodys list. Still waiting Grum.......

Read the post before he said not to call people names............ Alos, Grum I would like to see your list. Sorry for the Ahole comment, that might have been a little over the top. I know that this is an open discussion and I should not take things so personally.

Well if I had to list them out, it would go something like this 1. Babe Ruth 2. Yaz 3. Ted Williams 4. Tony Gwenn 5. Kofax 6. Cy Young 7. Nolan Ryan 8. Maddox tie with Clemens 9. Jonny Bench 10. Jackie Robinson 11. Might be Bonds but I would have to think about it being that he has only had one season over 50 dingers. Again this is MY list, so don't even bother Grum.

If Barry is the best baseball player that you have ever seen, then you need to watch more baseball. i know that he has hit lots of homeruns, but his in-ability to throw runners out or hit in the post season has prevented him from getting a WS Ring. True in 2002 he hit pretty well in the post season, but what about all the other years? Most valuable, debatable but I can understand because of his scoring ability, but best ever.........not even in my top ten. Top 20 yes!!

"Criminals and the state do not have a collective bargaining agreement. So try again" Yes they do it is called the automatic appeals process in many states. As well as the ability to ask for a new trail and so on. Working for the court system, I know a little somehitng about this.

For the record, it does work that way. Have you ever heard of a conviction being overturned on a technicality? Look that was just an example. Also, the players union would walk if the owners or MLB said in the next CBA that what the commish goes and you can screw the arbitrator. It is a way for the players to get what they want. I am not against unions, I am part of one, but I am against people doing somehting wrong and not taking it like a man. It is not only Kenny, but other players.

To say that the players union did not get off is lame. That is like saying that a killer can appeal his life sentance and get 10 years because somebody else got off. the evidence was there and the arbitrator saw it. Plain and simple, that is why there is a Father figure (commish) in baseball. The players union crys to mommy (arbitrator) too much and players get off. Do the crime, do the time. And the whole thing with being able to play while you wait for the process (which lets players into big games) is crap too. I am a life long baseball fan, love the game, but when even players on my team do that crap I can't stand it. Kenny Rogers got off light and I like the guy. He is a hell of a ball player but again back to the whole role model thing, be a man and walk away.

Maybe I missed something over the last ten years, but when was Mark McGwire busted for using banned substance? What he used was not banned at the time and when it became banned, he stopped using it. Sure he had to quit after that becaue he was useless, but it was not a banned substance. And by the way, I would like to see how many men in congress got tested last year for things like speed, pot, booze (DUI), child prostitution you know things that are illeagal. This is a big joke. Also, as long as there is a players union that can undermind the commish (Kenny Rogers) MLB is just a day care that pays its kids LOTS fo money.
