RSS recommendations? I like to use RSS to keep up on news without completely torpedo-ing my productivity. the ESPN feeds won't work for me, and i'm kind of sick of ESPN commentary anyway. Luminaries of the web, tell me where to subscribe

Paul Shirley is back! Previously mentioned here, Paul Shirley was the 12th man for my boys, the Suns, for most of last season. he's since been released, but he checked in with Sports Guy and answers some more fan mail.

The blog of a bench warmer I don't know if any of you are fans of the sports guy but he's fallen in love with Paul Shirley from his blog, and has him answering questions . I think Shirley is a really funny writer, with an elevated sense of reality in the NBA- meaning, he hasn't forgotten that he still lives on earth, with the rest of us mortals.

Eight is enough U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati announced today that after eight years at the helm of the U.S. men's soccer team, manager Bruce Arena's contract will not be renewed. So who will be next to lead the team?

New sheriff in town. Two OT's. Five games decided by five points or less. Two games decided by one point. Mavericks win the series. One for the ages.

what do you expect with Dick Bavetta... He's the Eliot Ness enforcer of superstardom. Apparently, guarding Duncan is a foul. Standing in front of your opponent and holding up your hands is a punishable offense. As The association points out no matter how the calls go, the spurs are whiney whiney whiney.
No Stuporsonics in Seattle? Has moving sports teams become the thing to do? And Loria isn't even involved in this. As for Stern...

16 year old Adu to Chelsea? Freddie Adu can't even get into the starting line-up for DC United yet Chelsea might sign him?

Eagles Give T.O. a Season-Ending Timeout PHILADELPHIA - Terrell Owens can take his touchdowns and dance somewhere else. The tempestuous star receiver won't return to the Philadelphia Eagles this season — or probably ever — "a result of a large number of situations that accumulated over a long period of time," coach Andy Reid said Monday.

Over the Hill Is this even a story anymore? Another MRI on Grant Hill's knee? Really, Dr., something's messed up in there? Huh, go figure.

well, for the record, Hill's depilitating injuries were on his ankle
Paul Shirley returns. Again. Discussed before. The difference of course is that he is now being paid to write about the fact that he isn't being paid to play basketball. Or he could write about something else I guess.

I'll read it especially if he reviews chuck pahlauniak novels. I thank the internet for many things, one of which being the possibility for normal (or slightly xxl) white guys to have their chance to overwork sentences in an attempt to add sardonic wit to the annals of every career possible. i like the dude. i'm serious. I'll be waiting for him to knee sportsguy in the kidneys and take his spot.

well drevl, we know what side you're on. i don't want this to turn into a mefi-like pissing contest, but that, right there, are a series of broad generalizations. I don't want to assume, but it sounds to me like you are saying the 'hood' is where the black people are, and where the black people are, republicans are not. that says a lot about everyone involved, i think.

Bronco's manhandle the Chiefs again and again and again. As a Chiefs fan I really wanted to stick it to Denver (or at least have our denfense show up to the game). Is Denver better than people thought or are the Chiefs worse?

the problem in KC is the coach-- after this many years, he should understand the necessity of defense the problem in Denver is Jake the Snake-after this many years, he shouldn't make rookie mistakes. He didn't make that many last night, ergo, they won, but we've all seen Jake play like a champion, and like a chump, a week apart.
my vote is for Klinsmann (as the likely one, i don't know who'd be best for it)
