Fightin’ Phils are World Series champions After 28 years, and two days of waiting for the rain to stop so that Game 5 of the World Series could resume, the wait is over.

The Phillies are the champions.

I'm happy for the best team in MLB. Selig tried to give Cinderella the steal sign but it didn't work.

Rain Game Enters World Series Lore Players on both the Philadelphia Phillies and Tampa Bay Rays can't believe the conditions in the rain-suspended game 5 in the World Series, particularly in the sixth when the Rays drove home the tying run in the slop. "That was probably the worst conditions I've ever played under in my life," said Carlos Pena of the Rays. "When do you ever see a puddle at home plate?"

All very good points, but forcing them to play in those conditions for that long was a slap in the face to the Phillies. To actually admit (in a round about way) that certain folks were hoping the rays would tie it so the game could be called is mind blowing. The game should have been called after the 4th, then continued in the appropriate conditions.

I think it has been a while since Ken Shamrock has destroyed anybody. Frank Shamrock is still a bad dude, Ken Shamrock is just bad.

Hello World! Rays beat Bosox in Game 7, Advance to World Series The young Rays completed a stunning run to their first pennant,...behind Matt Garza's masterful pitching in Game 7 of the AL championship series. When rookie David Price struck out J.D. Drew with the bases loaded to end the eighth inning, Tampa Bay showed it had plenty of resolve.

Well, at least after the crack deal went bad, he didn't try to have us tax payers cover the cost of it.

I wonder how many kids and baby's momma's the CEO's of fannie mae and freddie mac have.

The announcer said that by sticking his arms out to his side and looking at the crowd he possibly added .10 to his time.

I wonder what it could have been had he leaned and pushed it the last 10 meters.

Jason Lezak's Unbelievable Freestyle Relay Swim The final leg of the men's 4x100-meter freestyle relay may be the most stunning achievement thus far in the Summer Olympics. American Jason Lezak entered the pool a half-second behind Alain Bernard of France, who had said earlier that they would "smash" the Americans. Only 46.06 seconds later, Lezak touched 0.08 seconds before Bernard to claim the gold -- the fastest anchor leg ever by 0.73 seconds. See the video.

Harrison asked about shooting Indianapolis Colts star receiver Marvin Harrison was interviewed by police about a shooting near his North Philadelphia car wash this week.

He's worth millions yet owns a bar and a car wash in North Philadelphia, which happens to be a very scary place You're kidding right? I'm sure we could select 10 random people from north Philly, place them in your neighborhood and they would be twice as scared of your hood as you are of theirs. God forbid you go back to your neighborhood and open up businesses and provide jobs and such. On the contrary, why would a multi-millionaire need a gun in a scary neighborhood?

08-09 Cowboys starting "line-up"will not be introduced during games this year. They will just have their number called, then be asked to turn, face the crowd, and state their name and address. A 2 way mirror will be placed behind the Cowboys bench to protect the identity of the witnesses.
