Webber Traded to Philly Petrie didn't just end an era Wednesday night when he agreed to trade away the face of the Sacramento Kings' rise from laughingstocks to NBA elitists. By sending Chris Webber to Philadelphia for three forwards with long-term contracts, one of the most respected minds in the game put himself in line for some rare criticism.

The Anaheim Mighty Ducks are to no longer be under Disney's wing. Sold for $50-60 million - on par with the expansion fee paid in 1992. So, if Disney is no longer paying the bills, how about changing the name and logo!

Closure. Err... I guess not. I thought all of these stories I've been reading were just wishful thinking. Then Rogers Sportsnet becomes the first major broadcaster (and only one at this point) to confirm that talks will re-start this weekend. Is this for real? This lockout is like a monster in a bad horror movie that will... not... die.

Wayne Gretzky did play a part in getting both sides talking again, however Mario Lemieux was the catalyst. Super Mario initiated talks Friday night and now Saturday we're awaiting an announcement declaring the season is un-canceled. Much like he saved the Penguins franchise in Pittsburgh, Mario helped save the NHL's 2004-2005 season.
The trade not only gives Iverson his most taleneted teammate of all-time but it adds some seriously needed size down-low. The acquisition of Webber along with the addition of Rodney Rogers solidifies the Sixers as a serious contender to represent the East in the Finals. Besides Wade and O'Neal, the Heat are lacking talent and the Sixers match-up well against them. The Sixers most challenging opponent are the Pistons but they're inconsistent and have the difficult task of defending an NBA title.
