Patriots are perfect 16-0 with a comeback win against the New York Giants, overcoming a 12 point third-quarter deficit. Tom Brady's 50 touchdown passes in a season breaks Peyton Manning's record; Randy Moss' 23 touchdown catches in a season breaks Jerry Rice's record.

justgary - The '34, and '42 Bears did it as well - but lost in the Championship game both times. And this coming from a Bears Fan . . . damn the post season . . . With regards to the Patriots - deepest congratulations on their regular season record - 3 more to go. As a Michigan Alum, I'm proud of Tom Brady's accomplishments thus far and wish him continued success.
Rodriguez leaves West Virginia Michigan has hired West Virginia's Rich Rodriguez as its next football coach following a search that featured two other top prospects deciding to stay put.

I feel that Rodriguez's actions in his matter PALE in comparison to the true SLEAZE that is Bobby Petrino. Arkansas welcomes these hi-jinx ( in case anyone has forgotten about Lou Holtz in 1977 with the Jets - he was 3-10 as well and went to where?). If the unversities shortcomings are factual - I feel that Coach Rod is well within his right to get the buy-out fine reduced. WVU Adminstration should be wary of fighting this TOO much - if it comes at the expense of losing a major donor (they tend to follow one anothers leads). I suspect this will go away quickly, and a reasonable agreement reached.

You're absolutley right HalloweenKingDiamond. All coaches should aspire to emulate Petrino and Saban. They are pillars of their communities (read RV Park, as the engines are always running). The athletes should take pride in a coach that "Looks out for number One" and puts loyalty so high on their personal/personality lists. These are men of true integrity, and divine wisdom. I'll stick with my previous post Thank You. "When the going gets tough - HAUL ASS ! ! !

Well gaaaaaaaw-leeeeee, That SEC sure has a PASSLE of presteeejus coaches - filled with integriddy, and senz uf inpeckerable intesstinul forteeetude. Petrino, Miles, Saban, Meyer, the list could go on. Right on THX-1138 - you nailed it. Anything goes in the Screw Everyone Conference (S.E.C.) . . . not a mirror in sight. Gotta feel for the Razorback Athlete/Students - what an example. But DID make sure he was on Monday Night Football . . . hope the kids were watching ! Brave, Brave, Brave, Brave, Sir Petrino . . .
Vick Sentenced to 23 Months in Prison Six months after news first broke of an alleged dogfighting ring at his house in Virginia, Michael Vick was sentenced to federal prison Monday for his role in a dogfighting conspiracy that involved gambling and killing pit bulls. The earliest he could get released is May 2009. On the field, Falcons Coach Bobby Petrino's desperate search for a replacement now turns to Chris Redman.

Good riddance! Personally, I saw all I needed to see of Les Miles in his hastily called news conference Saturday. He affected a barking, angry tone, hands by his hips, at one point tugging emphatically on his sports coat.

Thank you lil'red - you beat me to the punch . . . If it's not Sabanesque - how would you cregorize Miles behavoir? If he had absolutely NO ineterest in the Michigan position - why didn't he proclaim upon first knowledge of HIS A.D. for Michigan to contact him, that he had no intention or interest in speaking with them? . . . He played LSU vs. Michigan to his advantage. . . As you pointed out - Michigan did not contact him - as they were asked NOT to until the Championship game was complete - is that waiting too long? dragging your feet? I believe not . . . I will reserve final judgement until the middle of January to see how this all plays out.

Been reading the Free Press through all of this drama . . . Conclusion? Les Miles and Nick Saban are cut from the same cloth. I hope this is not and indicaton of the future of college coaching. These antics should be left where they belong - Professional Sports . . . no intergrity required.
