Diversifying a Colorless Game Jeff DiNunzio writing in Sportscentral has penned an outstanding piece. "Hockey is dichotomous: while experiencing a period of great popularity in the number of new players registering with USA Hockey, its official governing body,(in the United States) the sport continues to suffer waning popularity on a large scale, especially in predominantly non-white regions." Referencing Scott Burnsides piece for ESPN this is a comprehensive and compelling read.

Chris Simon cheap shot (via YouTube). The clothesline with the stick to Hollweg's face put the Rangers on the PP, allowing them to capitalize and score the GW goal. There has been talk on sports radio this morning that they would like to see Simon suspended into next year.

Death Race 2007 Unnecessary is the entire point of the Tough Guy competition, a semi-annual 8-mile race through mud, manure, water, fire, more mud, barbed wire, nets, electrical charges, still more mud, smoke grenades, sewer pipes, ice, even more mud, ropes, cables, tires, on a horse farm in England's West Midlands. Make sure to check out the vid at the top of the page.

Jackpot Despite long odds, the Penguins will be in Pittsburgh for the next 30 years housed in a new arena they will pay next to nothing for. "Make no mistake about it -- without expanded gaming in Pennsylvania, the Penguins would be gone. The first puck would have been dropped next year in Kansas City."
