What Athletes, Fans, and the Sports Media Don't Understand About Human Growth Hormone "The media haven't spent much time making a distinction between HGH and steroids. An AP story, titled After BALCO, Another Steroid Scandal, glosses over any differences between the two, drawing a straight line from the BALCO investigation to the busts in Florida. But Jerry Hairston isn't Barry Bonds. Sure, both of these guys probably took banned substances in an effort to boost their stats, and both were involved in major drug busts involving large numbers of Major League players. But it's just plain wrong to put growth hormone in the same category as anabolic steroids. In the sports version of the war on drugs, Bonds was shooting heroin while Hairston was smoking marijuana."

And you thought Duke fans would be upset Angry Pakistani cricket fans took to the streets, burned players in effigy and held a mock burial of its World Cup team after it lost to Ireland in the World Cup. Many backers even called for the freezing of players' bank accounts. "That is the least they can do for the shame and disgrace they have brought upon us," one protester, Yasir Ali, said in Multan. They must be made to pay for their spineless performance."

Death Race 2007 Unnecessary is the entire point of the Tough Guy competition, a semi-annual 8-mile race through mud, manure, water, fire, more mud, barbed wire, nets, electrical charges, still more mud, smoke grenades, sewer pipes, ice, even more mud, ropes, cables, tires, on a horse farm in England's West Midlands. "The Snake" sheds his career. Former Arizona Cardinals savior-in-waiting, former inheritor of the Elway throne, Jake Plummer calls it a career after being traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Plummer, who says he's healthy and has a great life, leaves this career behind for another as...a handball player?
